Awesome hacking ideas

Well, I believe someone actually imported SMK into SMW before. I can't find the video, though.

Sounds like one of those things that would be cool, but probably a pain in the ass to get working.

I'm not sure if this would be possible (I might have mentioned this before but this thread has so many pages), but it would be awesome to show for C3: Super Mari0 World (or the title can be changed as one sees fit). Super Mario World with a portal gun. I imagine the ASM needed for that would be extremely complicated, but think of all the possibilities for puzzles (and if it fell into the hands of a Kaizo designer, he he he).
I also wonder if anyone's ever done this (also not sure how one would go about it): A one level puzzle hack
that's actually a screamer prank, making it a joke hack. Maybe that one isn't worth trying since a lot of people are sick and tired of screamer pranks.

Upside-down purple slope blocks. I think they were in one of the SMA4 E-reader levels, but you gotta admit that they would be helpful for bonus rooms.

I was thinking of a kind of RPG-Platform thing, like zelda 2? Maybe it'd include power-ups gotten at stores, or in levels. There's also be easy levels AKA towns with npcs. I guess power ups like that would be: cape, hammer suit, tanuki suit, bear suit, fire suit, ice suit (maybe it could also freeze a sheet of water, making some spots jumpable to secret areas) the laser suit, and such like that... Maybe there'd also be that enemies have HP, but mostly they'd be koopas and goombas, but would have themes based on the levels. Of course, with a level up feature too. Iunno if this is possible, but y'know, it'd be cool. I'd love a PM on skype if you know/ have done/are gonna do such a thing.
Alright, this may have been done before and if so, I apologize, but, what about a hack with Rosalina as the main playable character?

How about a puzzle hack where you have to kill all the enemies to advance? After a while it would start turning into a Zerg Rush where you have to survive and jump on three different chucks while bullet bills try to kill you from all sides.

Mod edit: Fixed broken link.
In my current project, canon to four years after the original SMW events, the player explores a land just north of Dinosaur Land. The southern most part of the overworld map features the Vanilla Dome and the player actually gets to go back and even replay some of the original levels (with some alterations), kind of like how in Pokemon G/S/C, you go back to Kanto. I know the chances of this next idea are minimal to none but what if someone made an executable game of Super Mario World and had it to where if you beat the main antagonist, you are given the option to go back to all of Dinosaur Land (with mostly original layout) and replay all 96 levels (with them being WAAY more challenging by adding new enemies and stuff). I know Lunar Magic isn't capable of such but it was just a cool thought. Personally, I would like to replay the more difficult original levels but I was curious of everyone else's opinion.
What do you guys think?

in my next hack i plan to have mario and luigi start in different positions of the map. iplan to add character specific blocks in order to go through the game and accessible secrets. any comments?
Manipulating Mode 7 to be used with normal Layer 1 and 2 objects. Sure it's probably impossible, but you gotta say it would be at the very least impressive to see swinging platforms in a tower in SMW or a boss that makes spikes come out of the background.
you're right; its impossible. m7 only has 1 transformable layer + a sux 2nd layer. you cant combine 2 modes together.

those would work and be better off as dynamic sprites
I'm thinking about making a hack based on the 7 deadly sins or based on the book Dante's Inferno. (Mario's Inferno?) I haven't read the book but I know all about the inner layers of hell.

I'm leaning more towards the 7 deadly sins as I can also end each level off with one of the Koopalings.

What are your ideas? Any idea for the sins? I have some ideas for gluttony/lust/greed/sloth but what about envy/pride/wrath?

How does this sound?

Mario's Super Peel-Out
Just like in Mario 64 DS, pressing the dash button while standing still will make Mario run in place and then start moving at top speed when the left/right arrow is pressed.
I really need a layout. :<

Well, Larry Koopa could be Pride, because he likes to sing songs about himself. (see Gopher Bash) Or use Wendy, because she's really vain.

Roy Koopa is a good example of Wrath, since he prefers brawn over brains - destroying things often.

You could try using Ludwig for Envy, but he's mainly just arrogant.

My idea for a hack is called Wario's Adventure. In this hack you go through eight worlds to find the fables "Treasures of the lost worlds". Instead of a spin jump, large Wario could have his dash attack from his GBC games, and maybe some of his other power ups could make an appearance.

Basically, the eight worlds would all be themed differently, and would have bosses that fit their theme. World one would be a tropical/beach theme, and the boss would be a pirate or giant crab. World two could be a thick jungle, maybe with kart areas like from DKC and even vine swinging, with the boss being some kind of ancient spirit in a Mayan temple or even a tribe of natives or something. World three could be a "haunted" world, starting off with a marsh, leading to a poison marsh, into a mansion, and the boss could be a king boo or even one of the ghosts from Luigi's Mansion. After this, it could go to a "plains world" that feels a bit more like the average "Mario World One" area. But maybe a little more difficult and with puzzles that have to do with the "Dash" ability. And maybe the boss could be a castle with Bowser Jr. This could lead into a desert world, with the boss being a mummy in a pyramid. After that, it could lead into a "mountain" world, with the boss being a yeti and it could play out a bit like the old NES donkey kong. World seven could be an ice world, possibly having areas where wario could barely make the jump to a ledge, and ends up cracking ice and falling through to an "alternate path", and the boss could be a re-match with the yeti, where it plays out a bit more like boom boom in SMW. The final world could be a cloud world that ends going through two or three stages inside of a castle and the boss could be bowser with a crown or something. In the end of each boss fight it could allow you to take a fancy door into a room full of different treasures, and upon collection the level is finished. The "castle explosion scene" could have Wario running away with the treasure and blowing up the castle, possible saying some vulgar farewells to the punks inside.
Here's one I'm planning on incorporating into my SMW+PMD2 hack for the final boss:
A cross between Dr. Robotnik's Giant Mech from Sonic 2 and Great Eggman Robo from Sonic 3. It takes 30 hits to kill, has a small weak point, damages the player on contact, and instakills the player with its attacks. Did I mention it has a total 144x144 hitbox?
In SMW+PMD2, this template would be used for Primal Dialga, with the weak point being his diamond.
I really need a layout. :<
Customizable auto-scroll sprites. The way I see it, it would play out something like this:

There is a readme included which teaches you how to use it. The many different ASM terms and such would define direction, speed and length of screen travel for each layer. It would definitely be entertaining to make a level, then make a custom auto scroll around it.
Hey, I've got another for my hack: Solid water tiles. Take the water tile GFX, but put it in Map16 as a cement block. That way, Mario can stand on water; useful for Bad Future-style levels.
