what: The hack

Kaizo

A kaizo hack that might require slowdown.

I would suggest warming up on YI1 and the Yellow Switch Palace.

The download.

Overworld unedited because I'm lazy.

Have "fun"!
It was fun, albeit tedious and unimaginative at times. When did you make this?

I just finished it before uploading it.

Fun Fact: I made this in my basement.
It seemed kind of rushed to me.

What do you mean? Do you mean that the levels are short, or the traps are too easy, or...?
I think he means that the level design didn't look like a lot of thought was put into it.
Yoshi's Island 3 was fairly boring and unchallenging (did the springboard even serve a purpose?), and there were some overused tricks.

Are you expecting me to use the 'bounce repeatedly under the ceiling' glitch? Or is there an easier solution that would make me feel dumb? I can't seem to make it to the ledge above or to the Para-troopa, or maybe I just suck.

You can, in fact, jump off Yoshi onto the ledge. Took me about 10 tries without slowdown. Anyway, yea. I meant that the level design seemed kind of bland and unprofessional, and there were a lot of sprites/items that served no use.

Sorry MercuryPenny, but your hack is easy, not very creative and a bit too short. Besides that, many items don't have a purpose, there are some breaks and some sprites are glitched. :(
Hello.

I played this hack, and I have to say - this looks pretty bland and uninspired, no offense. It looks like it was made in a few minutes since the hack is pretty breakable, has sprite memory problems, some sprites don't serve a purpose, and the levels are too short and empty; that's a sign that you rushed it. You can also break some levels by entering them while powered, like in YI2, when you can just get past that floor of munchers wihout needing to spinjump on the Pokey. Without further ado, let's begin to the screenshots.

Be careful about using a P-switch and a goal together, because you can finish the level by placing the switch next to it.

I don't see a point of the P-switch at the end.

Sprite memory problems. Try using sprite memory 0E to fix that, or then use the No More Sprite Tile Limits patch. That dirt tile as a sliding block also looked pretty lazy - why don't you use glass blocks or something else that fits with it?

Unfortunately I could finish the level by hitting the glitched goal sphere and screen scrolling to the left (the off-screen Goomba also helps).

That P-switch is also not needed, as well as the coin.

A suggestion I might give to you is: don't ever rush on your levels, especially one-level hacks! That makes it look like no effort has been put in these hacks, especially Kaizo hacks. Try using your imagination to do something creative and fun - take that as a hint for your future levels. Hope seeing more from you soon!

(Also Sokobansolver, I could do that jump in the first try. Just do the Yoshi jump normally to the cement block above)
