Inserting ExGFX [Legacy]

Yes, I did.
Can I please get some help with this because it's really frustrating. I looked up a lot of guides on Youtube and none of them does anything differently from me.

Another thing to note it that when I try to manually insert the ExGFX through hex in the Files tab, it says "no ExGFX files were present in the /ExGraphics directory". This is really grinding my gears.
how do i put more than one exgfx ? without messing up the two palettes that come with them ?#smw{o_O?}

If the tilesets you picked share the same palette, the map16 page for one of them needs to be switched to a new palette. You need to copy the colors manually, however.
Okay, in the tutorial, there were only .bin files, but in the zip. folders I got, there were .map16 files. What do I do here?
DEAR SUPER MARIO WORLD HACKERS: To protect our independence, we'll never run ads. We take no smc form SMW hacks. We survive on SMW hacks averaging about 20-200 levels per week in SMW hacks. Now is the time we ask. If everyone reading this right now gave a SMW Hack, our fundraiser would be done within an hour. If the CLM Organization is useful to you, take one minute to keep it online and ad-free another year. Please help us forget depression and get back to the CLM Organization and playing SMW Hacks. Thank you.

Either #lm{impsel} or #lm{impfile}
Thank you so much!

This is the only ExGFX tutorial that actually worked for me. #smw{:peace:}
Further evidence on why everyone should move to Japan can be found here.
I want to throw in a custom background palette but it will overwrite my custom Mario Bros player palette.

The right half of palette 8 will be overwritten in the game. Ignore it.
Is their a way to change SP3 EXgraphics to SP4 because when i put in my custom enemies Its effects the graphics for Yoshi's Egg and Tongue?
I assume ExGFX allows you to do this, but can you use ExGFX to combine the basic ground tiles with the Yoshi's Household tiles? I want to extend the Yoshi's Island tileset so I can use the solid ledges.

I tried combining the two GFX graphics and putting them into one ExGFX graphics bin, but there's obviously more to the procedure since I can't access those tiles.

Yes, you can, although it's likely you'll need some new Map16 tiles.
I have a DeviantArt, if you do want to see my art on there. I don't really visit it much now, though.

That's the one thing I'm confused about: Creating Map16 tiles. Is there a decent tutorial that explains how to create those from scratch?

Edit: I'm cool now. I should've updated this post sooner!
Question: How do you know which slot to use, as in, the FG1-3 or SP1-4? Which one do you use? How do you know? Or does it just not matter?
Very very very shortly, this drab, workaday world and everything in it will be changed forever! Follow us into the golden country, into the empire of the senseless!
It matters to the Map16 files. 16x16 tiles are just arrangements of 8x8 tiles, and those need to be in the correct locations.

Usually the download should come with some kind of info as to which slots to use (description, readme, sample level, ExGFX files being named after the slot).

(Also remember that FG and BG slots are for foreground and background graphics, while SP slots are for sprites.)

The patch includes these .bin files. There is no need to insert them as ExGFX (not that it was possible with the current settings anyway).
Is there link or tutorial for them files
Yes. In fact, a very small one:
1. Place all nessecary files of the patch, the ROM and asar (not actually required but makes insert easier) in the same folder.
2. Open Asar with a right click
3. Enter the patch name, press enter, open the ROM name and press enter again.
4. Done!

No, really. Wenn I mean "patch includes these [...] files" then I mean "patch includes these [...] files". How hard is it to insert these files when the patch does it for you?
Sorry thought ment archive i thought had install GFX an tilemap manually in LM thank you so much sorry bout that
