Mario's Deadly Adventure

Kaizo

Okay, the last thread went way off topic, so I'm hoping that won't happen again.

So here's the final version for now (1.1), if any of you are still interested.

If you have something unrelated you want to tell me, put it in a PM.

I hope your criticism is constructive and helpful.

P.S. Here's an LP of it done by Captain Savage. Thanks for playing!

I'll try to play it tomorrow.

Also, the link in your sig is 0.8, while the one you posted does not have a version number after it in the URL. Is that intentional?
i believe they are the same version, they are just named differently.

welcome back, Dipalon!
My Inspiring Quotes on Personal Growth and Change:

"Resolved financial/personal problems equal greater growth!"

"The only constant thing in life is change; nothing is set in stone. The old is replaced with the new. Forgive yourself for past mistakes. When many different problems in your life are resolved (personal, financial, etc.), newfound strength and confidence is gained in the process. Usually, failures, lack of assertiveness, disappointments, incompetence, low self-esteem and lack of self-respect, financial struggles, and setbacks can cause us to change and take action to solve any problem, leading to increased strength and confidence. This you learn from experience.

I have been experiencing this aforementioned newfound strength and confidence myself for the past FOUR to EIGHT years or so, getting stronger with each passing year, learning with each mistake I make and becoming more joyful in the process. Because of this newfound confidence I've acquired over the years, finding my passion is of utmost importance in 2022! You can develop this strength and confidence in yourself as well!"

To whoever's reading this, you are amazing and you are capable of doing equally amazing things. Gather confidence and be yourself! Say goodbye to the old you and welcome the new you! It wants to arise every moment, but you don't let it. Learn from your mistakes and never make that mistake again! Find your passion and live it!"

Finding my passion in life, but I may still be active on SMWCentral from time to time. Still enjoy playing many hacks, but I'm widening my perspective on life and opening myself to the new.
I'm sure I added a new level (Level C) in this version.

Maybe I messed up and linked the wrong one.

I'll look into it.

I didn't link the wrong one.

Oh, and mario and luigi?

I forgot to edit my signature. I'll just link it to this thread.

My signature's been edited already.

Can't really believe this hack came back from the dead, I'll check it out later on~
The only reason the earlier thread was closed was because it went off track after a rumor about me was spread.

Also, remember to PM me if there's anything I can fix in the hack.

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, it is impossible to get the normal exit to the first level. For some reason, there is always one koopa in the final series that is missing, making that final jump impossible. Try to fix that, it might be a sprite limit issue. I suggest removing the falling springboard, since it takes up sprite memory.

Also, that was not just a rumor. It was true. But let us forget about it and move on. Start off on a new leaf.
don't click this link...

Before I start, I would like to say that you should make the background into a different one, like one of the hills that you can borrow from 105 (YI1) or 15 (DP1).

So, I tried it. Improvements can be made:
1) Mark ALL invisible coins! Don't bother changing only some. Getting across a gap and finding you need to go through another coin diagonally isn't fun.
2) Get rid of the springboards. It's not fun in any sense of the word, and it's possible to make a kaizo fun, which I would suggest you do.
3) On that note, having repetitive sections (e.g. the run-across-a-ridiculous-amount-of-one-block-gaps-with-invisible-coins-keeping-you-from-jumping spots) is not fun either.

Also, I couldn't beat the first level because of this:

The third parakoopa after the third (!) springboard is too low. I couldn't advance because of this.

I'm not sure about this hack. I looked at the second level in LM. It is repetitive, and for some reason you spelled out "Problem?", in all-caps, in coins.

The interesting thing is that it feels like a satire of kaizo. Stupid hard, unfair, and unfun. Heck, if you weren't so defensive about it, I'd say it was.

But please, fix the errors I mentioned above, and please don't give snarky rebuttals (e.g. "Is that not what kaizo is?").

If anything above is intentional, please tell me.

Thank you.
Seems like he completely ignored my advice in the last thread, everything MerceryPenny said is EXACTLY what I've said in the older thread, and that was a few months ago!

My chances of playing: 0%
I still count, don't ignore me. =/

Thank you for the advice.

I didn't use the hills because I don't want the intro edit to be blatant. If I used the hills, it would be more obvious which level it was. In my opinion, I think the background looks fine the way it is.

In response to that, I marked all the invisible coin blocks in the first level.

I got rid of two springboards and put the final one on the ground.

What about the red parakoopa? That was the only reason I couldn't advance.

I added a few parakoopas there and restructured them.
If it still won't work, I'll replace that entire section.

Thank you for your advice.

P.S. The reason I didn't answer everything in the first post was due to previous bans for long posts.
