Touhou Mario 2

Standard

About the bosses, don't worry since this time I will code them. :P
I plan on creating a new sprite type called bullets and it will allow up to 64 bullets on screen.

Also I will try creating a system which allows changing the backgrounds mid-boss and some spells will use windowing and layer 3.

I can't say much though... I might start coding Nazrin soon and I will upload a video of some bosses to have an idea how it will work.

This makes me happy! #thp{=D}
It sounds good on paper but I will have to see how it turns out, but I do look forward to this.
AND DAMMIT STOP FEEDING MY ADDICTIONS!#thp{>_<2}
So remember kids! If you ever get caught having tosave a princess from a foreign land after getting dragged down a drain pipe, jumping while spinning in a circle can help you greatly by allowing you to jump on spinning saw blades, ghosts, and allow you to control your jump better!

When all this work, this hack will be three times better than the first one.

Also, great screenshots from the first level!
Bye.
Haven't paid attention to this thread, But i'm sure that this hack will be great because i loved the first hack.
Ah, me too, I'm was thinking... "Will Mario fight hawk this time?","power-ups ,feather cape or tanooki leaf?“,“will marisa make some stars for mario?
joke :p
"
well ... that's all , peace! #smw{:peace:}
Before adding screens, @steeledminder, your suggestion has been accepted: Raiko will be in the hack too.#thp{^_^}

Now guess what? Stage 2!

Screens:
(I forgot to remove the glitched status bar, please don't mind)

The level is atlethic, but still linear, with some hidden shortcuts and bonuses. The sprites used are mostly maids and Maidens (aka the chucks). A small P-Switch run is included. The difficult starts to increase.

Music:
(I'm sorry, I still have to sample the stage music >.<;)
Beware the Umbrella left there Forever

Any opinions, thoughts or suggestions? Feel free to post.
Very nice stage you have going here so far, I'm also loving the music too. Very nice choice. The graphics choice is very nice as well. The chucks look cool too, and a I really like the update to the Yin-Yang symbol things too. All the brown blocks though, do look a tad bit ugly, but not much that can be done about that. I mean, Super Mario World did it too, so yeah; as a plus, I really have no idea of what to replace them with, maybe Grey Cement blocks: atleast for ScreenShot 7. Keep it up Silver.
Yeah the brown blocks look ugly like that, otherwise the level looks great!

I'd suggest maybe custom tiles of some kind, but it would be hard to do (But the extra effort definitely would show). That's the only thing I can think of.
Also, beware using that Splitting Chuck... even in the original you could easily cause massive lag with those...
Otherwise, great level (And great use of custom graphics).

Mario with Tanooki Leaf Vs. Mamizou. Best boss battle! You could mess with any shenanigans. #thp{=D}

Anyway, now to end this post... I'm taking over the thread. #thp{LOL}
This is the result of feeding my addictions!

Hmm, I have to agree with those brown blocks, nevertheless, I like how you put the level design. #smw{:TUP:}

Otherwise, I don't have much to say here, I think it will become a great hack anyways, so I will let this hack surprise me once it's out, just take your time. #w{=3}
Thanks everyone for the nice comments and suggestions. Yeah, I'll try to get a better brown block someway~

Also yup... STAGE 3!

Screens:

We're slowly getting in the core of the game. The Stage 3 starts with a small section of enemies, then Mario get shoot in the air and reaches the "Flying Object", the airship. This is filled with bob-omb shooters all around, and the level design itself starts getting harder. Uh...also it autoscrolls, yep....

Music:
(Again, sorry. The Stage music still is too WIP to be shared)
The Traditional Old Man and the Stylish Girl

Any opinions, thoughts or suggestions? Feel free to post.
Bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb...

The graphics certainly look nice as usual though the a lot of bob-ombs seems slightly repetitive despite the varied landscape of the level.
Yeah, I have to agree about the overuse of Bob-ombs. Try using enemies like Bullet Bills or something else that would fit the airship. Otherwise, this looks good! All of your graphics are nice as usual, as well as the whole hack itself. Can't wait for more from you!
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
Yeah, me too. This level looks repetitive, with only bob-ombs.
Anyway, these bgs are very beautiful #ab{:D}
Bye.
While I like alot of Bob-ombs, I do agree, try to mix some Bullet Bills (Both Vertical and Horizontal and even Diagonal wouldn't be a horrible idea), and maybe some cannonball shooters.
Because, let's face it. We don't need to be giving away a bunch of free bombs, I don't die THAT much. *Rimshot* #thp{>:(1}(BOO YOU SUCK)

i'm posting in this thread so i wont forget to check up on it from time to time

Ok, again thank you everyone for the kind and useful comments. Sure Stage 3 will have more variety of enemies and less bombs.

Stage 4!

Screens:

There we are, Mario finally gets inside the Palanquin Ship. If you love puzzle-like levels, this is the stage for you: getting to the boss would be difficult not only for sprites, that got really increased by number as you can see, but also for the level design.

Music:
Interdimensional Voyage of a Ghostly Passenger Ship
Captain Murasa (WIP)

Any opinions, thoughts or suggestions? Feel free to post.
Looks neat but...

I can't entirely judge this level without knowing the type of puzzle you have to do. Is it a Layer 2 puzzle? Is it follow rooms in a certain way puzzle? "Puzzle" is a generic aspect and with it being the core of the level I can't say it's good or bad without knowing what you do for the puzzle.

It's a "going through rooms" puzzle. Messing with P-Switch and key mainly.
Seems like a pretty good level you've got being made here. Try not to use too much of one enemy in one place though, and try to use any kind of bullet spell circles in a creative way. Best of luck to you.

Plus, I like the dark feel of this level. Gives off a haunted or ghostly feeling.
