@grav WHOA.... It's so frantic. I love the intensity of it! It sounds like something when you fight a last boss or something.

I don't remember sharing this one, but this is a song ported by me by ear and sampled by omegazeroINFI.

I call it "Courtesan". (KORT eh zahn)

This port sounds very good too! It sounds a lot like the original. Will you submit this to the site? I may use this for something :P

I will upload an updated version (wich sounds more like the original and have got an echo).
BTW: This music is one of the best SM soundtracks ever (for me even better than Lover Norfair). #w{<3}
To music: You can use it as underground and as underwater music (like Retro Studios have done in Metroid Prime 2 and the creator of Super Metroid Redesign used in the water part of crateria [reference of Metroid Prime 1 and 2] and me in my hack #ab{;)}).

Edit: TLOZTP SacredGrove and an updated version of SM Red Soil (alias Lower Brinstar).

I've got 2 Yoshi's Island songs, the Story Dialog and the Athletic Theme both which are still a work in progress. I ripped the brr sample with Split700 but some samples couldn't be inserted bc of "invalid length" so I replaced some with SMW's samples. Enjoy!

This is a video of one of my levels with Story Dialog song featured in it.

EDIT: Check my latest post, both of these have been updated.
Major thanks to Suika Ibuki for layout!

First off, I'd like to remind the last 2 posters that feedback on the post before you should be commented on. (Or, as far as I can tell, is at least highly encouraged.)

LadiesMan, are these your first ports? If so, they're rather impressive! I should say, however, that there is still quite a bit that could still be done with them.

@Story Dialog: Some of the octaves at the beginning are inaccurate compared to the original. Make sure that you're declaring the octave at the very beginning of every channel. (TinyMM automatically starts off at "o4", but it doesn't actually define it in MML sometimes, so you need to make sure you're doing that.) Other than that, this is a very faithful rendition. Nice job!

@Athletic: Sample 16 (Assuming you're using AMK, I'm talking about the @32), the instrument playing before the loop on Channel #1 and Channel #3 after the loop, is awfully flat in terms of fine/cents tuning. Try adding $EE $XX to make the instrument sharper. $XX is the value you're going up by. If I had to guess, try making that value $80 or something. A piano like this one might help you. (In case you don't happen to know, the first note that plays on #0 is a "D", so try tuning the instrument based on how the piano sounds.) Hope this helps!

Yep they are #w{=)}. I was searching for the story dialog song but couldn't find one like in YI. So after CONSTANT searching, I finally decided to do it myself with the aid of some rather handy tools (like split700 and nintspc and in saying I probably lost a respect from music porters out there #ab{:S}).

I'm with you all the way! As a music newbie, I've only been at this for 5 months, finished the story dialog in about a week and was so happy, but yeah, my music skills are EXTREMELY limited, if you'd like the txt files, I could pm them to you and check my mistakes.

I am, but there seems to be a problem in channel 4 where if i Change the octave from 4 to 5 so it can sound correct, the rest of the channel messes up after the high note, so that's I've been keeping it at 4 until I can fix this if ever.

Is there a point somewhere else in that channel where the octave is set to a specific value rather than just increasing or decreasing by one?

If so, search the text file for "o" and increase it by 1 every time it appears in channel 4 and it should fix it.

Could I get a bit of feedback on the ports in this thread?
I have a hack thread - Link (Now with a demo!)
Also a music thread - Link

@NamelessProtagonist

You might want to lower your echo volumes a bit on those ports.
And you should get rid of #6 in the Hall of the Zombie King.
Other that that they sound fine.

Now this:
Donkey Kong Country - Aquatic Ambiance

Also here's the original (SNES), and the Genesis version.

Also had the pitch to be more closer to the Genesis version, and added some echo with the original unused(?) echo values from the SNES version.

I honestly think my version is better than the original SNES version.
What do you guys think?

For fucks sake. Don't repost your ports because people didn't react to it. If people don't want to give you attention, they won't if you post it a second time. This doesn't mean that people don't like you or your ports, it's just that they don't have to say much about it.
No reposts, or stronger measures will be taken.
Sorry, it just seemed like nobody simply noticed it.
You don't have to be so harsh.

@LadiesMan_217 That opening for YI is very incredible, and I don't see how you could lose respect for using tools MADE to help new porters, no one expects somebody to be perfect at anything. I think what you've made is rather very impressive, as I can't port anything.

Anyway, the song does have a few issues, not really any I can point out except parts at the beginning are a bit loud, other than that, nothing I can say. I like that little tinkering effect you have in there too, very very nice.
Your layout has been removed.

Simply a beautiful melody in my ears. One of the best songs I've heard now ported over to SMW. Very good work on this. I honestly have no criticism, so yeas. You should be awfully proud of yourself, I would be.

I'm rather proud of this one here. I don't think I submitted it before... it's the theme to Turtle Bridge Modern from Game n Watch Gallery 3. That's my favorite mini game ever. Toad has to hop back and fourth on little goonies between Mario and Peach, delivering gifts from her to him. As the score gets higher the music gets faster and the goonies--which pop rising balloons of different speeds- fall from under you if you're too slow. Oh, what fun!

Seems a cute song, maybe a little bit too empty. Try changing some instruments, or maybe use other channels (you only used 4 out of 8).

Also, I've something to show too:
Super Bomberman 2 Stage 5 (WIP)
Touhou 12 : U.F.O. - UFO Romance in the Night Sky
Touhou 10.5 : Scarlet Weather Rhapsody - Tenshi's theme (WIP)

Good job Silver, they sound great! #smw{:TUP:}

I never really heard those before so I should be the last one to give you advice on them though. lol #smw{;)}

Anyways, I was looking through some of the accepted ports and I decided as my first few tries at music porting I will update a few I think that really need it.

My first one I remixed was Halloween Theme made by Troopa.

Here is my first update of it called Halloween Theme (Piano Version)
Also here is the second update of it titled Halloween Theme (Guitar Version)

The second one that I remixed was Stage 1 - Marble Madness by Caracc

Here is my update version called Beginner Race (Level 2)

I hope you enjoy these, and please give me feedback on them. #smw{^_^}

At some point, I will make a sampled port of these when I get a better handle on regular porting. Plus, I will be making ports of songs not seen on SMWCentral yet. Be on the look out for that.

Also, special thanks to omegazeroINFI for being a good friend and teaching me how to port, I dedicate these remixes to you.

#smw{:peace:} OUT! I'm outta here. #smw{:TUP:}

Those are both really good for first ports. I especially like what you did with the Halloween ones, although I'm not too fond of the high orchestra hits at ~1:15. Nice work.

Waterworld - Final Mission

Bet you never thought you'd see an unsampled Waterworld port.
yes i included the txt you're welcome

Thank you X-Sinc, I appreciate it. Any suggestions to what I could change it to at the spot? #smw{o_O?}

Wow, man. That sounds really awesome! #smw{:TUP:}

I've never heard it before, but I might want to use it in my future hack and I'll put you in credits if that's okay? #smw{^_^;}

----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I told you guys that I'd put out a new song, and it was requested by a friend. It's still got some things in it I got to fix, but hope you still like it. #smw{;)}

The song I ported is On The Beach - Yoshi's Story

@scooter102089
Really nice first ports/remixes for the first try (much better than mine), keep up the good work!

@X-cnis
I also never heard of this, but that sounds badass! #smw{:TUP:}

Here's more of my DOS ports: a near-complete Xargon episode 1 soundtrack!LOL 88 megtekintés volt amikor kimásoltam a linket. #Feri XD
Since nobody commented on it at all, I'd like to know if I improved at all, or I should just choose easyer midis.I think I'll get easier midis anyways.

It's soo hard for me, because Sound Blaster has wider octave limits, support dor 16 channels ]and I'm sooooo lazy.
Anyways, don't look at the txt-s.

I think I should bring my Guitar back down from the attic.
If anyone has/knows a site with Video Game sheet music/music sheet/howeverthehellitscalled let me know. I also hate those how-to-hold-this-chord things, but I think I'l be ok if you send those :p
