CLOSE THIS THREAD

I've read tons of tutorials, watched lots of videos but I still can't fix my problem.
I did whatever they said..
1- Opened my ROM
2- Clicked RED + BLUE mushroom..
3- Extracted the zip to my folder.. then put my file into ExGraphics folder then named it "ExGFX80.bin"
4- Clicked Green then Yellow mushy. Actually.. when I clicked yellow mushroom no messages came up. I guess I'm doing a mistake here.. but I just don't know what went wrong.
5- Clicked RED POISON Mushroom.
6- Checked the box at the top.
7- Clicked: FG3: 80 (100200) and then ok.
8- things looked weird but I didn't care.
9- Clicked the full question block..
10- Got to 2nd page (the first one with squares..)
11- Then pressed f3 but it said; Couldn't load a page of Map16 data from file!

This happens in my the 1.70 version.

Now.. for the 2.12 version.

1- Opened my ROM
2- Clicked RED + BLUE mushroom.. (but it didnt say anything in blue mushroom)
3- Extracted the zip to my folder.. then put my file into ExGraphics folder then named it "ExGFX80.bin"
4- Clicked Green then Yellow mushy. When I clicked yellow mushroom no messages came up.
11- Then pressed f3 and loaded my .map16 file.
12- aaaaand the tiles came up but now. They looked weird.. I tried changing palettes and many things but it just doesn't work.

Can someone help me??
What ExGFX are you trying to insert? Can you give me a link?
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Inspired - Desert/Beach.

Did you load the palette that came with it?
Oh.. nope. I'll try it now..
I hope that works
Yes. now I can place them but now BG looks weird.. god!..

Did you accidentally used another GFX on BG1 slot? Did you replaced the tiles on Page 40 and 41 on the Map16 Editor?
The palette loads colours for the background as well, so it probably changed them to something undesirable for use with the background in question.
@HyperMario
Nope. I'm sure I didn't. I also tried in a new rom.

@Doctor Sneeze:
Yes.. is there a way to fix it..?
Sorry if I'm being stupid but.. I don't understand what you mean..
I mean that you insert the palette into the level then go into another level with the same palette before you inserted you new GFX palette and copy each color in the palette editor one by one. It is extremely annoying to do, the link I provided is the best explanation I can offer #ab{:P}.
Aw man.. thats so annoying -.-
Anyways, I'll try it. Thanks!

Dude, whoa there!

You used the SECOND page?! Like from 0x200?

That's maybe what's causing your page to act up. From what I've learnt so far, page 2 should be left as is, for some reason.

Use page 3 and onwards, and you shouldn't have any problem.
the tileset specific behavior of page 2/42 is off by default in newer versions of lm, and so should be safe to use, assuming you didnt reenable tileset specificity

and even then, it shouldnt be causing problems. you just have to check what tileset youre using
