Charge of Corruption (Hack & Music)

Again, I present...

My very first hack.

As it looks like, it's a demo transformation hack that has almost nothing with SMW in its gameplay and nothing AT ALL in its plot.

The story:
A kingdom named Chamalia was ruled by harmony and peace. But uncanny things started to happen.

The king and his three sons, Aurora, Russel and Sofia suddenly died.
Some people were sent to jail for weird reasons. As one of them, Rengi wanted to leave prision and find out who accused him of something he never did: Murder the Royal Family.

Some old screenies:

These are old indeed. Many things such as texts, graphics, font, palettes have been changed

And some NEW! screenies:

Even these ones are old either. Some other things have been changed.

Music part
This hack uses a bunch of original music made by me.
Some of the already made ones:
Demonic Invasion
Lost, smelling like dead
Prision Theme
Bleeding Truth (Recommended)
(Worst music pls)

This demo has only 4 levels, you may have time to give a try and please, comment.

It is compatible with Bsnes, Snes9X 1,5x and Zsnes.
This hack seems very unique from the screens, I'll be sure going to play it!#thp{^_^}

Also your compositions are neat, it's very difficult to compose.#thp{LOL}
I was a beta-tester of this hack, and I must say, it is awesome.

I'll make a small review here, because why not~

Gameplay

The gameplay is just great.
The new player's gameplay is awesome and very well done overall, and the levels explore well the different gameplay and are just very fun to play overall.

Graphics
The graphics are well selected and fit well together, and they are overall pleasing to look at. The different palettes also help a lot, and fit with the atmosphere nicely.

Music
The music is awesome overall, I really like how Arctic tried to be more original with the music selection and made a custom soundtrack for this. The custom compositions did fit well with the overall atmosphere of the hack and the place where they were used.

Overall

Overall this is a great hack, it's very unique and incredibly fun to play. Awesome job here, and I'm waiting for more!
The screenshots are much better then when I last saw them! Great! I just have to add this hack to my ∞ list of hacks to play.
Nice to see you finally released this demo! Everything looks great so far, I'm going to play it soon.
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
Gonna play this as soon as I get back to my computer! Can't wait! :3
Nice to see you managed to make your thread, Arctic! I'll see what are the new things I have yet to see with this ASAP! :>
Thanks yall, especially you for your detailed review, Sexie.

Feedback is better than I expected.
Well, if we were judging by the hack old pictures, I really would say that he would need at least one or two weeks of work. Everything there looks pretty dry and bland, and the levels look very dull.

However, their new images really impressed and really surprised me. Everything is much more beautiful and elegant. However, I would love to have seen at least one video, as the images even though it has good graphics, leave the hack with the appearance of "difficulty simple." But since there is, I'll take a look at the demo.

The songs are also very interesting. I think my favorite is the Demonic Invasion. It is well simple but is an excellent theme of terror to some castle.

Final score:
Hack: 7/10
Music: 9/10

All: 8.5/10

:>
It's pretty awesome seeing a Tweeter(?) as a protagonist. Your palettes and graphical choices have also given this a dreary and somewhat nightmarish look, which is perfect for a game about a character from the dream-world. Good work, and will look forward to seeing more.

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.
My only complaint is that the level layouts get pretty repetitive for me, from lack of variation in obstacles. The first level is a whole lot of spike beds with a few ball n' chains; the second starts with a slow autoscroll that has a lot of downtime; the third stage uses the same few enemies over and over and it starts to feel same-y pretty quickly.

That aside, I think you've done a pretty good job creating levels that work with the new moveset- in particular, limitations that prevent abuse of the fire attack and infinite jumps. There's also a strong, consistent mood and sense of environment, even if it makes for a pretty slow-paced beginning.

Oh, one other thing- the first time you exit the screen, it's off of the bottom, but if you try to follow the river off the bottom of the screen later on, you die, and I think that's a little inconsistent. I was expecting some sort of room, even if it didn't lead anywhere.

Still, nice work so far :b

i forgot to post here just kill me :<

I love the amount of creativity in your hack, the concept and mainly the music (you also composed some tracks, extra points) and gameplay. It's one of the C3 projects I liked more, I'm still waiting for the final version of your hack, I know you'll get it done very well.

Nice work indeed.
@AxemJinx

I noticed it when I saw how The fourth level turned out. I may take some time to remake the whole level 1 and 2 and add different sprites to level 3 before starting level 5.

Going to fix those things for sure.
(I sometimes fail with level design because I don't have much experience with it yet #w{=P})

@ShadowPhoenix
You Ninj'd me bro.
Anyway thanks. I really hope the final version will be flawless, bugless and enjoyable.

The concept behind this is very unique from your standard SMW hack. I'm looking forward to playing this
Layout by LDA during C3.
