SPC Showoff thread 4.0 - Now with links and soundtrack database!

@Anikiti: Besides the intro sounding really awkward and the @29 getting cut off really early, this sounds pretty cool.

THIS FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT WAS AWFUL TO FIT INTO 8 CHANNELS

...glad I'm done with that one.

Wow, that sounds really good! I listen very rarely to MegaMan Music because i dislike the Soundtrack somehow, but your Port is excellent! Small thing: I would change the Bass Instrument (sample #02) to something else, but that's just a point to have some critism on your Port.

Wario Master of Disguise - Cannoli Dialouge

Maybe I'll make a sampled Version out of this and if I do so, I'll of course port here.

EDIT: Here is the sampled one.
@Darius: I didn't listen to the sampled version yet, but the unsampled version is just beautiful.

I haven't ported anything in a while, much less showed off an SPC here, but I recently ported Yogurt Yard from Kirby's Adventure.
Quintesson Judge: Silence, or you will be held in contempt of this court!
Hot Rod: I have nothing but contempt for this court!
- Transformers the Movie (1986)
I've always been a fan of sampled music. That particular piece sounds like it would fit an underwater section really well. Never heard the original, so I can't criticize, but at least you know it's good from what one person says. Also, the saying is, is if one person says it, chances are high that one hundred more think the same.
@Gamma V: This song is a bunch of styles all together thanks to the instruments you used. The intro feels like a very tense setting with the happy marimbas inbetween that, and after that comes the super happy main melody, which feels kind of odd. But besides that, this is a really good port.

---------

First Reality 4 - Land of Dwarves.

Such a short time was spent on this port but I'm more than happy with the result.

Classic Uematsu right here! Very good port, the strings+flute combination is absolutely lovely. Also, nice work on the bassline.

Celestial Fight - Just another boss fight-ish composition I wrote today to experiment a bit with arpeggios and surround.
RednGreen: This sounds amazing. The arpeggios give me a strong Tim Follin vibe, but the melody gives a strong megaman vibe, but it all goes together so well. Nice job!

DIE ALREADY YOU STUPID THING D:

I can never pull off the one-cycle on this guy and giving him that shoryu during the boss rush feels so satisfying.
I know this isn't really an SPC but a soundtrack file but I'll post this anyway. This is the entire soundtrack of a project I was working with some friends and never finished. Everything was ported for AddmusicM

Team Catface - The Unfinished Project Soundtrack

(most ports are by me and OGS93, some are from Undifined3 and Atma, and modified from Slash Man)
Hooray! My first port that I actually put some effort into.
Major thanks to Hadron for clarifying ADSR, and the suggestion of it for the 1st channel. Anyways, how is it for a first port?
Here is the original.since probably nobody knows about this

This seems to be a pretty good first port despite it's looping issues, also okay instrument choice too.
-------------------------
Also here's my own personalized sampled port based off an other existing port by Mippish.

SPC

Also here's the original (SNES), and the Genesis version.

Also had the pitch to be more closer to the Genesis version, and added some echo with the original unused(?) echo values from the SNES version.

I honestly think my version is better than the original SNES version.
What do you guys think?
Hey y'all, Scott here!

This is a pretty good first port! the instrument choice is okay, just fix those sync issues :P

Sonic 3 Final Boss

Something I have been working on the past two days :P

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever actually listened to this song past the first thirty seconds or so, but that part seems accurate from what I can remember. As for the rest, it sounds pretty nice as well but I can't really comment on the accuracy there. Overall a nice port.

----------------------------------------------------------

DSotK - Ice Level External

I did this in less than an hour, so it may not be my best work, but I'm happy with it.

DSotK - Title Screen | (Original)

A modified version of the original song by LemmyKoopa, which didn't sound the best. Hopefully this one sounds a tad more professional.

DSotK - Grass Cavern

Egadd composed this one, and I ported it for him. Uses surround, so make sure you're wearing headphones for best results.

OMG!! I love your port!! Awesome!! #smw{:TUP:}

Hey guys, would you give me your opinion about this port? It's my second port, and I'm not very sure about it. Anyway, this is the port:

Zelda II Palace Theme

If you could give me some tips about how to make it better, it would help me very much. Thanks :)

EDIT: The MIDI that I used had an horrible percussion, so I needed to remade it from the scratch, and I'm not very good creating beats. It took me a lot of time, but I was able to make an OK beat. But in the port, the echo effect makes the percussion very hard to hear, and if I remove the echo the port will sound even more empty than it already is.

So, my problem is that port is very empty, I would appreciate some tips about how to make it sound less empty.
@X-cnis
All these sound very well done. You used GAIN very well also. :D

@mes
This could use a bit more work. The echo volume could be a bit lower. And I'm wondering why you have 4 channels playing the melody, its gets way too loud.

Not bad for a second port.

I actually liked the drums, especially from 0:40. Nice work!
As ggamer77 said you could lower the echo and remove those duplicate channels (#5, #6, #7 and #4 too). If the beat stills sounds too low you can balance by lowering the other channels, and you can also try to add a bassline to make it sound less empty...in short, you have to experiment a bit.

The Flintstones - Unused Song 2
I love this track #ab{:P} Too bad it wasn't even used.

Thanks guys!. I've lowered the echo and I've erased all the extra channels (except one for the flute), and I'm making a bassline in flstudio,when I have something ready I'll post it here #smw{:peace:}

Really nice work. I haven't listened to the original, but it definitely sounds like a Dean Evans song.

Well, since my C3 thread seems to be turning out a lot like last year (loladvertising), I think I'll just plonk this here as well.

Plok - Boxing Glove
soundcloud / bandcamp / twitter / buy/stream my EP / buy my touhou music / buy my NEW album!!!
http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/22951/SM_LowerBrinstar.spc Just a song, which I want to have it in my hack (I tried it with "Metroid Prime 2 Echoes: Hydro Dynamo", but "Super Metroid: Lower Brinstar" is easier to port for SMW).

That port sounds very good! I haven't heard the original, but this sounds great, and the most curious thing is that you didn't use all the channels, but the port doesn't sound empty.

This port sounds very good too! It sounds a lot like the original. Will you submit this to the site? I may use this for something :P

@ggamer77 and RednGreen, sorry but I couldn't make a bassline, so I did some changes with the four original channels, here it is

Zelda II - Palace Theme

I prefer this one over the last one, and it fits my level's mod very well. Of course that I still need to do the most annoying part, the looping |-O.

And I also made this other port, it's my first port using 8 channels (yay!)

Rockman & Forte - Museum (Intro Stage)

even if this doesn't sound like the original, I like it a lot, and it fits a first level very well. And I need to loop this one too... This one was a bit more hard to make, there were a lot of problems with the octaves, but after a lot of tries I got an ok port, and while porting this I learned the trick about using multiple instruments in one channel, it isn't something very important, but meh :)

So, what do you think? Do you have any recommendations?
@mes: That RM&F port sounds pretty good, even for it not sounding anything like the original. Good job!

Burst Man.

It took a long time to sample port this little bugger.

welp
