GrandChaos' Mario World (v0.1 Alpha Demo) - GrandChaos

Hack Name: GrandChaos' Mario World (v0.1 Alpha Demo)
Creator: GrandChaos9000
Verdict: Denied

Overall:
If this hack is one of the first ones you've ever created, then you've done a pretty good job remodulating most of the levels. All of the levels played well minus a few graphical and textual flaws, it all came out pretty nicely. Though, the one main problem that sticks out to me is that I felt like the levels were too much like the original game. They had the same types of enemies per level just moved around to make it different and although the level BGs were different, they still felt the same. I think with a little bit more distinctiveness (particularly stages 4 and 5), this could be a good hack to be approved. Some of the graphical and textual problems you had in a few of the levels are:

SS 1. Remove "the" before "Princess Peach"

SS 2. Sorry is spelled incorrectly. Remove the words "that who".

SS 3. This 1-Up Block is possible to obtain without a shell.

SS 4-6. There's some cutoff between the cement blocks and the Switch Palace Blocks (right below Mario as an example).

SS 7. Change "block appears" to "blocks change"

SS 8. I don't think I've seen a purpose for this except at the end of the level ... also there's a little bit of cutoff against the bushes and the land.

SS 9. Remove the words "close to".

SS 10. Monty Mole seems to never have a chance at actually attacking Mario especially if he's right on top of him.

SS 11. Change "high" to "higher"

SS 12. This level seems really familiar...

SS 13. Change "To go in the door" to "To go into the door"

SS 14. This message block seems to give too much information on how to beat Iggy.

SS 15. Remove "been", the comma, and "then".
The messages in SS 9, 11, 13 & 14 are from the original game. Even Nintendo screwed up their grammar! :P

However, they really should be changed.

It still would be nice to fix them though.
The message on the screenshoot 14 is also from the original game.

He also should remove the "in" in the Iggy defeated message, screenshoot 15.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
I'm gonna fix soon to release. But I've almost forgot, Yoshi's House with different message box while riding Yoshi, then it says.

Have you tried to switch in yellow button? To fill any yellow box, you must go to west then north on the mountain.

Does it correct?
If you don't want that message when riding Yoshi, make the two level messages for level 104 the same. Otherwise put a different message.

Humm, I would say it could be something like:

I'm not really sure in the "To fill the yellow blocks" line, and if your overworld is different from the original, the "travel to northwest on the mountain" will not make sense unless it is located in said direction.
Now, I've already fixed to updated in 0.11.

There are new custom overworld map, text, HUD and more.

For the most part, it was fun to play and you've done a good job making levels.

Yes, all of the problems have been fixed for the most part (minus SS8, not sure what that P-Switch was supposed to be used for other than carrying it to the end for that Yoshi Coin - but there's another one later on?), but this problem below hasn't been addressed yet. Stages 4 and 5 need to be altered more to be different from their counterparts in the original game. To me the same concepts and ideas are [i.e. in Stage 4, the sublevel is similar in concept with the Pokeys, holes, slopes, etc. along with the star, L3 Water, Cheep Cheeps, Mushroom Platforms, etc.] still there just arranged slightly.

Same thing again, does it alternate, blatant or different levels I don't even know?

It comes off too much as a blatant edit for the level.
I actually do not see anything wrong with using the same concept as long as the level is drastically changed.

GrandChaos: Use CTRL+Delete to clean out the entire level so you can start a fresh level with no resemblance to the original level.
I've already updated to 0.12, 2 levels were no longer in blatant until there is a new one instead.

There are new custom title screen music, helper character with 'Grandos the Coyote', better graphics for pipe or cement stone and more...
Your hack was really nice to play

Two little bugs:

In the first level (yoshis house) you don't see the helper character because of a tree

The final message is
"You have defeated Iggy Koopa and destroyed in the first castle"
I think you should remove the "in".

That has already been suggested.
