Need music for your level? Have some awesome music that you think people could use? Look no further. Feel free to suggest music to other designers here.

I'll go ahead and post the huge list of music we've been working on in the SMWCX Internet Relay Channel.

I'll edit this post to include more if there's more found/suggested.

Desert/Hot Springs

Pirate/Ship

Space

Dungeon

Factory/Airship

Factory

Beach

Forest

Desert

Forest

Some kind of space station or city

I have MP3s for the YouTube links as well. If anyone decides to use them, I'll upload them.
A factory music
A forest music

These were the only ones I could think off the top of my head.
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
I believe this song would be great for an opening level, although maybe with different samples. There's just something about that trumpet that I don't like.
Just a suggestion, is a plan to keep songs from the same system, or stay with a specific theme of some sort? Maybe do rearranging samples.
No, use whatever track you want from whatever system you want. Be creative.
Not a Music Recommendation, but what is the status on music we can use? Can we use music from artists who release music or can we only use game OST music?
There is nothing that specifically states that your music has to be from a video game. I would think that as long as your song fits, then it's perfectly fine.
If doesn't breaks any copyrights, probably we can use music from artists who release music, if you mean compositions for games, sure.

Still about the copyright, we should use some OSTs played on real instruments? Like some people who do this on YouTube, probably there's some good themes on internet, it is, if people allow the public use.
So what's our policy on songs from commercial games exactly? I've pretty much decided on DKCR music to be speficic, and I'd hate to have to choose less fitting tracks.

I never thought using copyrighted music was something we cared about, but the last few posts have left me uncertain. Some official clearing up, pretty please?

We strongly want to avoid lyrical music, in terms of what kind of music. Any video game music is fine, as long as it is fitting with your level.

Lyrical is probably not the best word to use. Sonic games tend to have lyrical music, and I listen to plenty of commercial music that doesn't have lyrics. Am I allowed to use this?
Check out The Mod Archive. It's a huge collection of music modules from the tracking and demo scene. some of which could be used for this project!

According to the site... "All modules are freely downloadable for private use only unless permission for other uses has been granted by the relevant copyright holders.". So it should be OK to use these songs for a SMWCX level, right? I would give credit to the original composer if you use their song from modarchive.org, though

my first post in over a year! finally stopped lurking.

I believe that I've mentioned this before, but I'm fully in support of using this for a lava themed hub world.
