Spongebob might have continuity....!

I have been watching episodes of Spongebob like crazy. (I mostly couldn't help it. Nickelodeon seems to have shown the damn sponge over 200,000 in a week.) But every episode seems to be "real" in a sense based on the cartoonists' mood at the time, as they seem very random. If they cause the apocalypse or destroy a town, the next episode will have everything alright, as if nothing happened.

There is a secret explanation to this.

It all starts with an episode where Manray was frozen in tartar sauce in one episode. Yes Spongebob frees Manray in that one episode but that was in the "present" at the time. In a LATER episode, much later, Spongebob and Patrick come across a time machine.

THIS TIME MACHINE IS SIGNIFICANT TO THE SERIES.

Back in time, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were about to dump tartar sauce on Manray to stop him from controlling the city. But a folly involving Patrick's penchant for eating made things difficult, causing the present to go to crap. So this caused Sponge and Pat to go BACK IN TIME to stop Patrick from eating the tartar sauce. Another folly occured. And another. I don't remember ALL the details, but let's get to the main point of the episode.

THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of Spongebobs and Patricks from DIFFERENT timelines eventually arrived at that time. THIS IS IMPORTANT SO STAY WITH ME.

Suppose each of them went back in their respective timeline. Each timeline would have a different direction for each of the thousand Spongebobs.

SO THE EPISODES MUST TAKE PLACE IN ONE OF THE ALTERNATE TIMELINES.

THIS MEANS THAT SPONGEBOB REALLY DIED VIA GHOSTLY ATOM BOMB, WORKED AT THE CRUSTY CRAB UNTIL HE BECAME A SKELETON, DESTROYED BIKINI BOTTOM, TURNED PLANKTON INTO A BABY, ETC.

ALL IN DIFFERENT TIMELINES.

So anything that's permanent, actually happened to Spongebob, but in a different timeline.
... holy crap that makes a lot of sense. Great job Luca!

... now to figure out if Charlie the Unicorn has any continuity...

Spongebob Rule #1: Any episode of Spongebob made after the movie is not part of Spongebob canon.
Interesting.. Never thought of that, good thinking Luca. Also, I don't think Spongebob really has a canon, with each episode being so different. Kinda like how Adventure Time was, but now something of a story is starting to develop there, while still remaining hilarious.
- ignore the watermarks, working on a fix for those
Adventure Time has been a mixture of random stuff and plot-driven episodes since season one. For example, the episode "The Enchiridion!"
Oh, that makes sense then.

Several possibilities for alternate universes (note it is possible that any instances that aren't in VS may occur together in the same universe but aren't necessarily noticed or televised):

- A universe where Karen is a giant supercomputer vs. a universe where Karen is a small computer on wheels

- A universe where the back room of the Krusty Krab is a deep freeze that goes unused vs. a universe where the back room is storage containing all of Plankton's past machines.

- A universe where Sandy Cheeks hibernates for the winter vs. a universe where Sandy heads south for the winter.

- A universe where Squidward is acknowledged as the inventor of jelly-fishing vs. a universe where he isn't.

- Several universes where a character (or characters) time travel and do not return vs. several universes where the character returns but is from another dimension with no noteworthy differences*.

- A universe where Plankton never has a single customer ever visit the Chum Bucket up until the events of the movie vs. a universe where he has one customer who dies in the restaurant (that may or may not be the only customer he ever receives).

- A universe where Spongebob makes less than 25 cents in a year vs. a universe where Spongebob has to pay to work at the Krusty Krab vs. a universe where we can assume he is on a normal salary.

- A universe where Plankton is arrested vs. a universe where he is not.

- A universe where Neptune is a king vs. a universe where he is a god.

*It's also noteworthy that most likely any instance of time travel lands the characters in an alternate universe.

This reminds me of that Family Guy episode =P

Luca, this thread just change the view on Spongebob. (._.)
This could also shed some credibility on other otherwise non-continuous cartoons.

Time machines, portals, the key to making episodes work in any order one may choose.
I no longer have interest in SMW Hacking as I did when I first started several years ago.
I prefer to think about Spongebob like the retellings of a legendary character's life, like the Lone Ranger or King Louie. Spongebob is some legendary hero that saved the world from imminent destruction, and everything else is just stories about his life.
Obviously they weren't there so some stuff has to be guessed (Plankton's customer ratio, Spongebob's pay, etc.) Also because they are kids they over exaggeration a lot of things that happen (working at the Krusty Krab until they're skeletons, Squidward going to a world of Alone.)
That's just how I cope with inconsistencies at least.
ask me if i give a f*ck...
The fool can become a legend, too. They don't have to all be heroes, and it would explain some of Spongebob's more exaggerated foolishness and sometimes weak writing. Villagers and their children each writing songs and stories of the fool to contrast and compliment those they write of the hero, which is obviously not what Spongebob is about.

WMG can be a drug.

I always loved spongebob but now i don't watch it anymore due to this:

Who the fuck would put some shit like that on spongebob!
I'd like to kill who ever put that in spongebob! #smw{>:)}

I'll put more reasons in the future.

The third one is just gross and the last one was perverted.

It isn't all that gross, he just eats the burgers in a bunch of strange ways. When they show his thighs it really isn't done in a gross manner, it's for a split second and done for laughs, not to gross you out.

Again, there's nothing perverted about this scene. I know that the joke is that he's licking Spongebob but it isn't sexualized at all. It's just a quick uncomforting moment meant to confuse us and then relieve the tension so we can sigh/laugh if we didn't already.

Also I'd really like some explanation on what you find wrong with this:
You're the perverted and gross one if you watched this episode and can only think about a flaccid cock in Spongebob's soft tender hands.
ask me if i give a f*ck...
Those images, well the last three were some of the best parts of the older spongebobs. Could ol' suggestive humour.

Maybe your right with the third and the last but the hot dog on spongebob's hands just doesn't look right at all.

What kind of stuff do you watch to see something like that held in that way?

Id just let the ideas of the show been perverted go. Heck there was an episode were the bleeped out swearing. I'd say that is "worse". Granted I find those episodes brilliant.
