That should render the first level finished. (and it only took me a year too!)


 
@WYE: Whoa? Took a year just to do one level? Well with THAT much effort put together, it turned out quite well. Maybe a video would rise up feedback.

Well I might as well give yet another update.

I feel I didn't animate enough on the bottom really, but a lot of animation was used... =O

@WhiteYoshiEgg: The pipe up on the right looks a bit awkward.

So yeah, just felt naked not posting anything about my level. Sprite placement isn't done (those stupid puffer fish cause a lot of slowdown) but there's

@WYE, I've always loved your drawing style, and this is great too. I don't really mind the pipe's sharp, 90 degree turns, although that pipe in the top right switches perspectives at the corner. You might have forgotten the corner piece. Even then, the white line would be on the wrong side. Also this is just personal preference but I don't really like that there is no status bar, it feels so much more empty. Like I said, it is personal preference though.

@DDV Oh my, thats rather unsettling, I can't wait to see it in context.

@Heilus Not much to say, I think both palettes look fine and I like that layer 3 water. I guess I have a problem with the bricks themselves, they look a little odd, but even then it's not that bad.
ask me if i give a f*ck...
@WYE - Fantastic caverns. My only complain would be the pipes, they shouldn't bend that way in my opinion.
@Daizo Dee Von - Highly grotesque and unsettling graphics. They have fulfilled their purpose. Great job.
@Hobz - I love that. It reminds me a bit of that infamous unused SMB3 level with the waterfalls except with anti-gravity thrown in.

The first screenshot's palette is subject to change.
Nice looking screenshots you have there! I like the way you mixed SMB1 castle graphics with a sewer like background, and how it works pretty well! On the second shot is that water layer 2 or layer 3? Personally, I always use layer 2, as you can do more with it.

Thank you Eevee. The water is layer 2; the transparent look is achieved by using the unused "1F" level mode.
Yeah, I use it myself and it works pretty well! Clever that you used the mist to make up for the lack of background I might mention! #w{=D}

Sort of. I ripped the heart from Contra 3 and the chains from Mega Man 7 but I drew the blood and the animations so it looks even more hideous. Thanks.

@THY Wow, nice! I really enjoyed watching that level. Pretty good design but the level had a very unique style in terms of visuals and palettes.
