Sony just announced the PS4. The final nail on the coffin for the Wii U and Nintendo.
Practically telling Nintendo how they should make a console, instead of focusing on a single gimmick with no power, they should expand on console power, allowing better interactions with players around the world.
While no price or date was announced, they did show some of the upcoming features and games on the PS4.
The Dualshock 4 combines what makes the Vita and the PS Move great, allowing better and more accurate controls than the Wii U has and a touch panel for whatever Sony wishes to beat Nintendo on. The media molecule demo pretty much showed what could be done with it. And even stream your games to the Vita. Wish I could do that with the 3DS and Wii U.
One of the biggest features is that you will be able to "share" your game with the world with a simple press of a button. You can livestream what you are playing within the console, have people chat and help you out and more. Unlike with the Wii U, where you have to keep the game paused out of a menu to even try to share a screenshot, and hope for replies and placebo facebook likes. The game Drive Club truly shows what the ps4's social features are capable of. Making tournaments people can instantly join and compete, creating your own challenges and more. The PS4's share feature will allow you to even take video footage of the game you are playing and let you upload it to sites like Youtube and Facebook. I think this will revolutionize the LP community.
You can also play a game on the cloud. On almost any device. On your phone, tablet, and even PS Vita just about anywhere. Much like the Wii U. Without the short distance restriction, or being confined into the WiiU gamepad.
Some of the first party titles they revealed are already more than what Nintendo had to show last E3 (Nintendo Land? pffffffffffahahaa) and show what a true nextgen system can do. Killzone Shadowfall looks downright amazing, the particle effects, shadows, colors, highly detailed models and textures. Meanwhile the best Nintendo has to show now is a port of a GameCube game with a bloom effect added in. inFamous: Second Son looked alright, too.
We also saw the PS4 being capable of running next gen engines, such as Capcoms's and Square's. And even Epic's Unreal 4. Also we saw the reveal of a New IP (something nintendo should be doing) called Deep Dark, by Capcom, by the looks of it, you can explore dungeons and fight different bosses, but the killer here is that if you're in trouble and need help, you can ask a friend to join in your game and provide you with assistance and items, you can even share the spoils of the quest. Looked like a neat concept to me. Also, some footage of the project Bungie has been working on, Destiny, was shown. An FPS MMO with an open world for players to explore and co-op, and will have PS4 exclusive content. Looks like a very nice game. Among other things, Diablo 3 was confirmed to have a PS4 and ps3 release.
anyway, thoughts on the PS4 reveal?
i thought it was cool
