I need Help, when I import a custom level into Super Mario 64 I opened it with Toads Tool 64 to add the enemies and blocks and all the Mario Stuff. Now when I clicked on the First star in selecting the Acts in TT64 there was nothing in the Level but Mario's starting Point. The next thing I did was select all the acts and there was a infinite amount of Empty Objects. When I change one of the Empty Objects to a Goomba and saved it to the Rom it did not appear in the Game. How do I add things to the Custom Level? this is my first time hacking Super Mario 64.

Select the object you have changed (click it then hold Ctrl), then click on the star act bar -- all 6 -- to make it appear in-game.
SUPER CRASH TIME YEAH!
I've played a couple SM64 hacks and noticed that the instruments used in the game generally make custom music ported from other games sound a bit different. In most cases, these "remixed" versions of the songs sound fairly good. However, it got me a bit worried about adding new music to a hack.

Is there any possible way to preview how a song will sound prior to inserting it into the game? It would be nice to be able to hear it and know beforehand if the song will sound good or if it's not worth the trouble and to look for something else before spending countless hours fiddling with instruments and settings in the game. If I can open some sort of preview and just click on different settings to hear how it will sound before actually importing it into the game, it would be really great.
Current Projects: "Legend of Zelda: Balance of Power" (A Zelda Classic quest)
How do I go about placing objects?

I finally figured out that you make the terrain in SketchUp. Duh.

But how do I then place things like tree, coins, enemies, stars etc. ?
Oh, it is so on.
Is there any way to undo a patch for a SM64 ROM?

I accidentally applied the obj_import6.ppf patch to my hack and now I can't play the edited levels nor load the ROM in Toad's Tool.

What should I do? All help is appreciated!
Is it possible to change the position of the parts of the HUD? (Like the power meter, the lives, the time counter, etc.)

I know it must imply hex hacking, but I'm not sure which address to edit.

You can use the RGB Editor by CPUHacka, which is posted in here: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=59991
Download it, open your ROM, and go to the Caps tab, there you have the options for the colour and shading of all the switchs, including the one you want to edit. You must use hex values.

Hey everyone, how about we post questions here, and not make a whole new thread about it?
Hi all!
I am posting because I actually have what I think might be a simple request and I was hoping someoneone might be willing to help me out. I was wanting to try to use the texture for the walls in Peach's Castle (you know, the walls that are painted to look like green hills and clouds and stuff) to use as a base for some castle graphics in SMW. Since I don't hack SM64 yet, I was wondering if there's a way someone could give me a standard image format version (png, gif, etc.) of the wall texture. If that's something someone would be willing to do, could you please PM me or respond here? Thanks in advance!

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.

Do you mean these ones?
Out of curiosity sake, I have a question regarding custom Bowser fight stages. Normally when replacing a Bowser fight stage, Bowser becomes extremely glitchy and disfigured. However, when looking at Star Road's final boss stage, (spoiler)
the level geometry is new and works fine.

So what I'm getting at is: How do you replace a Bowser fight stage without causing the game to glitch? If it's too long / complicated to explain here, then PM me. I imagine that it involves ASM hacking.
First of all ... Hello Guys !

Are you using Skelux's Model Replacer to make a custom title screen?
Indeed

Well, here are some things you should keep in mind when replacing the title screen:

- You can't have too many textures (use 4 at the most)
- Don't use any textures that are alpha (part-transparent)
- Don't take up too many polygons (sides) in your model. Keep it simple. Don't use any completely round edges.
- If you're using Sketchup, try to keep the size around 10ft high and 20ft wide
- Be sure that you're usig two ROMS: One for the obj_importer, and the other for replacing the title screen.

If you still need help, you can send the model to me so I can fix it #w{=)}
