[Soundtrack] Megaman 7-styled Megaman 9&10

This is a private project by Torchkas, Lui37 and myself, and we do not allow anybody else in. The plan is, we're sharing the tracks from both the games as we go along.

here's an always up-to-date list of claims. Please chec the MM9/10 pages on here, anything currently done is marked in a different color.

I've taken a listen to the original. What's so impossible about it? Just try substituting chimes or whatever for the really high octaves near the end.

Unless that's not the problem/MM7 doesn't have a chime sample.

Also that Pump Man port is pretty sweet.

Basically, the way we originally planned it, it goes out of the octave reach. That, and MM7 doesn't have a chime sample.
Ah. And I'm assuming using Sample $02 (@2) for that one purpose is out of the question.

pretty much, yeah. The focus of this project is to only use MM7 samples, and the only chime-like instrument from the entire game, is its marimba, so that wouldn't really work out.
I don't suppose you could increase the tuning value (say, by using $06 instead of $03)...?

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Still goes outside of the SNES capabilities. It goes far over 3FFF.
Presumably it would work if you made a separate sample entirely for it with a higher pitch, at least.
Your layout has been removed.

While it would work, its technically not using the resources from only Megaman 7, which is what we're striving for with this. The samples are big enough to barely fit, doing something like this only makes the song's size unneccesarily big.
So, a slight update.

For the sake of completion, we're actually going to do the sample retuning for Galaxy Man. However, this is the only exception I will make for the project. Other than that, nothing much is going on.

That, and I started Hornet Man.

random update old WIP
I think a post layout goes here somewhere...
MM9 - Hornet Man (WIP)

Update time, for me atleast.

So, I've lost quite a bit of data, with my PC having died. I lost progress on Strike Man, Blade Man, MM9 Special Stage 2, MM10 Wily 3, and a bunch of other tracks, but I had TXT copies of Hornet Man and Pump Man in my Dropbox, so those are safe at the very least. However, I have to wait until I get a new laptop to be able to continue what I've done on these ports.

With that said, yes. Hornet Man is a pretty old WIP, dating back to January already, but it's all I have right now. I hope to be able to continue these ports as soon as I can, but that all depends on when I get my new laptop.
I hope this project is a success, rarely do these soundtrack collabs from what I've seen work out, but with all the talent you guys have and how great these ports and even WIPs sound, it'd probably be the worse collab to not work out so far.

Here's hoping it all goes well.
Wow, this seems very great and interesting!

By the way, are you going to use this (starts at 0:33) for "Overdrive Scramble", with the exact same notes and samples and everything? It would be great to hear that in a Super Mario World hack.

Click the character on the right side of my layout to visit my Discord server and discuss and play and look at and get updates and sneak peeks of the games and other things I'm making.

The author of that video is, coincidentally, Slash Man from this very same project. So yes, he'll be replicating it as best as possible. I believe he's nearly done, just has to add a few last pitchbends if I remember correctly.

Wow, and that remix has already been ported to Super Smash Bros. Brawl right here. And now we're finally going to be able to use it in Super Mario World!#ab{:D}

Time to get that new punk-styled haircut.

Also, Blade is nearing completion. Just having trouble with instrument choices.
Both of these sound great, but hearing these now makes me worry about the possibility of you guys losing them continuously through unfortunate computer mishaps. If you haven't already, I think you guys should make backups to put on dropbox. It'd be a shame for all these ports to get lost and be left unreleased.
