Crazy Mario - No more glitch sounds and TASes needed!

Kaizo

you really don't want to be looking through my posts, i made most of these (first 10-15 pages) when i was young and stupid

Crazy Mario - designed to drive you to insanity.

Mega important update!!!

As of the 14th of June, no P-Switch music plays, meaning no more P-switch glitch sounds.

If you have the old copy of Crazy Mario, I HIGHLY recommend you delete it and replace it with the new one.

The new download.

I really need some TASes to pop up on the thread. If you have made one, please PM me or post a reply on this thread.

Thanks
Let's give feedback based on the screenshots.
Perplexing: That seems fairly good for a first level so far, but the invisible coin blocks are so overused and annoying to deal with, invisible dotted coin blocks are where it's at! In other words, take the dotted switch blocks (the yellow one, to be exact, or any other that you seem to think it looks good) and make it act like tile 21.
Athlete: there is cutoff on the water because of the wall of cement blocks. Maybe replace the last ones with skinny horizontal pipes and the rest with upside-down ledges? Also, the clappin' chuck gimmick seems overused, unless you're making it so the chuck do something.
Quick: I think the ceiling of brown blocks isn't needed, replace them with upside-down ledge. Same with the turn blocks and part of the bullet bill machine. Also, no need to put an 1-up at the beginning of every level, unless you die everytime after hitting the midpoint. Other than that, simple.
Hot Foot: For a level called Hot Foot... this doesn't seem to be like it at all, because when I've seen this name, I thought it'd be a cave. There are floating munchers on the last screen, replace them with upside down ones with cement blocks or something above them.
Bouncer: Hmm, not bad at all, though if you bounce on the note-blocks, they may show glitched graphics, but you're using the grinder, so the only option is using the disassembly, which seem to be quite difficult for you.

Other than that, it seems good for a first hack so far.

@Archie

Thanks for the response, I will get onto that ASAP and I'll make these changes:

I agree with with the coin blocks on Perplexing, especially the first one where I might remove it.

As for the 1-ups, I think I should remove them and put a save prompt on every level, what do you think?

I will remove the cement blocks on Athlete in the water and find a way to put in a ceiling.

I'm unsure if I can think of any more names, but do you think 'Hanger' or something like that is OK for Hot Foot?

You're right, I have no idea what a disassembly is so I doubt I'll know how to use one.

edit: Changed quick, what do you think?
Quick

Or better: do what I said about the dotted coin blocks and put two of them where the first invisible coin block is (it's still possible to get past). Same for the second one.

It's not a bad idea.

I think it seems fitting.

Yes.

Updated Athlete:
Athlete
Have I got the pipe thing as what you were suggesting?
Yes, but there is still cutoff on the water, I think you should put another horizontal skinny pipe above the last one so it shouldn't cause cutoff anymore.

OK, done that and got screenshot:

Pipes

Also, do you think this is too hard for a 3rd level (Athlete (2nd is switch palace))

Too hard?

Nah, it's not too hard.

Just before midway point

There is cutoff with the ledge edge at the end. Also, may I give you a suggestion? What if you put the floor of munchers that are at the end right under the second shell and second mushroom? Because it looks boring right now. Other than that, looks good so far.

Yes, but the rest is my own.

You need the first mushroom to get through the bit just after the koopa and the second mushroom is needed for the muncher floor near the edge of the screenshot. Although I admit it is quite boring and it needs some work.
Sorry about the long wait but I have finished Deep cave and the next 2 levels, Scrolling stones and Mass burial site.

The latter is in need of some TLC though so screenshots will be up when it's done.

Screenshots:
Deep cave 1
Deep cave 2
Scrolling stones 1
Scrolling stones 2
Scrolling stones 3

A TAS video of Yoshi's island will be up soon
First screenshot: I think you can bounce on the red shell rather than bouncing on the note block.
Last screenshot: You can run to the ledge rather than shelljumping. I think you should lower down the muncher ceiling so running isn't needed.
Other than that, it is looking pretty cool so far. Keep it up!

Well, the note block keeps the red shell higher up for longer, removing it makes it nearly impossible as you almost always miss.
Got World 1 here, not really a TAS though despite what the title says.
World 1

EDIT: Mass burial site and the next level, On the move, are done. See the video here.
*sigh*
Dolphin cavern is finally done. It mixes pipe/puzzle with kaizo hacks, all with a pit hack feel to it yet not impossible. Watch the video here.
Crazy Mario's next level, Gauntlet, is finished! This didn't take as long as Dolphin Cavern, but it's certainly more difficult! Watch it here:

Crazy Mario - Gauntlet

NB. I have added a part in Dolphin cavern to allow entry into the special world - world 3 - and the boss fight and end text are unchanged in the video but they have been changed.
Yoshi's tongue and spawning GFX are glitched, so here's the ExGFX file if you don't know how to mix sprites into ExGFX files. Other than that, it looks good.
