Hoo boy.

This is not a good hack. First things first, the level design. I'll admit the first world was innocent enough, but it went straight downhill from world 2 on out. The most striking issues are the long, uneventful stretches of land and the parts that are completely devoid of enemies. And some levels even have both! Seriously, look at this. That's literally the entire level.
When the levels weren't an absolute borefest, they were usually filled with basic 2008 jank. Going all the way back with an item, tiles that don't act the way you'd think they would, one block jumps on ice, badly placed shell kickers, secret exits you have to look for in LM, yadda yadda.

Visuals are equally unpleasent; it's just redrawn graphics, vanilla graphics, extremely simplistic hand-drawn graphics, and some other stuff all thrown into one big bowl. But that's not important. What is important, however, is the music. Apparently the creator made his own soundtrack for this hack, and it's, well, bad. Usually, I don't mind the music at all, but time around, it actually worsened the experience, at least for me. This is probably a very subjective point to make, but still. Having to listen that one-channel @2 song just made the ice levels all the worse.

There's a story! But it's presented through walls of text which made it rather unengaging. Not to mention it's about evil curses and brainwash and saving the world and so on. I don't think it really adds anything to the experience.

To summarize, I didn't enjoy the gameplay and everything else felt... unprofessional, I guess.
