I'm in for sure. Just a question though.
Can we use custom music? I mean, it will be tiring for whoever is going to play many levels, have to hear the same music over and over. I for one am going to play them once the contest is over.

You cannot use custom music.

Aww man. Oh well lol, as long as we get to use everything in Lunar Magic to my dispose >=D

I've added Rule 9 to the Rules thread. Rule 9 is that you can only submit one (1) level to the contest. I thought this was implied considering previous years have only allowed one level, but I had people ask so I added the rule to the post.
Would it be alright to, maybe, include two copies of the level, one for the actual contest and one with custom music for LPers and others who wish to play it? Or would I have to send it to them manually?
E: In a .ZIP, obviously.
soundcloud / bandcamp / twitter / buy/stream my EP / buy my touhou music / buy my NEW album!!!
I have my overworld done. I need 1 more question to be answered.
Say I have a level with 2 exits. One is a dead end, the otherm leads to a level with 1 screen. Is it okay of that level with 1 screen had an exit of its own? Of course you can still provide the player to exit from the 2 sides of the screen, but that wouldn't trigger anything on the OW and I have a plan with the event of that 1 screen level.
I may enter this, if i can find my memory stick before the 16th. I need a little bit of time if I'm going to make it awesome. But good luck to everyone entering!
I used to use this site a lot back in like, 2011. Hopefully you don't remember me.
Erm... when will be the deadline for this contest? Because there's no deadline set there. Also, I won't fail like last time, when I made ExGFX instead of the actual GFX Bypass settings. I may think on something cool and creative to put on my level, and it will have some uses of certain sprites, in a non-kaizo way. Yay for graphic mixing!
Windowless ride, feeling alive
Are you alive or just breathing?
^ February 29th.

I'm going to work in a level for this contest - also good luck you all. I already have an idea of what I'll do, but something pretty boring is the OW. I hate leave it unedited, and it's hard to make one for just one level. Can't we use the "No OW Patch", at least?
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
MarioStarLuigi: I suppose that's okay, just be sure to indicate which version is supposed to be judged.

Ripperon-X: Are you asking if you can use a side exit in addition to two actual exits? To me that sounds a little loophole-y, and I'm inclined to say no. If I'm misunderstanding you, feel free to correct me.

Austin: Just leave the Overworld unedited if you don't want to change it. The Overworld doesn't count for anything anyways.
Friendly reminder to not post in the submissions thread unless you are submitting a level. Non-submission-related posts will be deleted.
I'll enter, I guess.

So, is this the vanilla contest for 2012?
shirt status: not on
I know this is off-topic, but when will the next chocolate level design contest be?
don't click this link...
I'll take another shot at this contest. Though I didn't do too bad last time, I hope I can improve this year. Good Luck to all contestants! #w{=)}

Just wish we could use custom music. But I'll make do.

...the drawing function of the 8x8 editor in Lunar Magic is strictly prohibited.

Does the drawing function include copying tiles from different tilesets and pasting it within GFX 00-33?
@FirePhoenix: ou got half of it right. I meant that in addition to the side exit in that 1 screen level, there's a goal sphere that triggers a certain event.
Systemkrash: Yes it does, you may not copy and paste tiles with the 8x8 editor.

Ripperon-X: So the side exit is one exit, and the goal sphere is the second one? And there's no other exit anywhere in the level? Then yes, that's fine, because there will only be two exits total in the level.
Em. Never mind. I found a different way.
Hm, okay, if I do want to have an OW anyways, I'll use anything non-blatantly.

Also noobish question - question following:
Are we allowed to make sublevels, well, lots of "sections"?
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
Yes, of course you may make sublevels.

Some people got confused by my "one level" comment. All I meant was that you can only submit one full level to be judged, not multiple ones. One level shall be defined as a level that you can access from the overworld and all of its included sublevels. I think I'll go append this to the rule to stop further confusion.
Hmm... I think I might have an idea for a level for this. Of course, whether I actually manage to finish anything in time is another question entirely. :V

One more question: Can we use the ExAnimation feature to change palettes or to make blocks appear, based on some triggers, like time, etc. ?
