Hacks you've quit and why

It struck me just recently, that my first hack I ever had made, I quit it for a reason quite laughable now. I remember, for the second world, I wanted to change the default ground palette to a desert palette. But back then, I had no idea what a custom palette was, and all of the default ground palettes in all levels turned to the desert one. I didn't know, so I quit the holy freaking thing. Anything happen to you like this, back when you were just starting to hack?
Hey, I'm Riot. I used to use this website a lot but it has been quite a while since I've been a part of it. Help me out with any of the changes; it'd be much appreciated.
Me: So many damn times its not even funny #w{:s}
EVERY hack before the one I'm working on now (Well... no, I'd say before my last hack) I quit because I'd forget about it, come back a month later, realize it sucked and send it away. Luckily the small issues I've had with my current hack have been sorted out, otherwise I'd probably have quit, in my opinion, the best hack I've made. Not that that's a hard thing to pull off. #w{xD}
Corrupted Mario World, now I'm dubbing as the Super Mario Violation, or Super Mario World That is Just a Marathon of the Typical Crappy Hacks you See. I abandoned the project because I lost the flash drive to which it was once stored into. I have improved since.
Spah sapped mah layout!

Call me Reshiram_The_Artist, or RTA.
Cocked up the insertion of the no sprite tile limits patch, but transferred all the levels to a clean ROM, so everything was good.
I've stubbornly stuck with my first hack throughout my entire SMW hacking career.

That's not to say I haven't thrown old junk I made away. My first levels were pretty bleh. Remade them.
I made a hack called Caleb's New Mario, which by the name you can see it had no real original sense lol. But now I have applied different aspects of diversity to my hack, like custom sprites, custom blocks, and I'm working on getting a hang of making custom BG's and FG's :D So now I have started a new hack called "SMW The Eradication of Bowser!". Hopefully I get a hold of ASM skills soon.

I once took a fairly long hiatus from the hack I'm working on now just because I couldn't figure out how to use ExGFX.
WELP NEW LAYOUT COMING WHENEVER

I wish I could say that...I've quit over 20 hacks before I signed up. Believe me...thats not an exageration...I once had big plans for one of them though. Back then I didn't know ASM so...yeah...dropped all that REAL fast...

EDIT: Let me rephrase that, I didn't even know how to insert ASM...
Eh, sure. Why not? Kaizo hacking doesn't seem too ha-aaaaaaand I broke the ROM.

Same here.

I do remember that it took me FOREVER to understand how ExGFX and the graphics slots worked at first.

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.

My first hack ever was described in the 1st post, but for the sake of my second hack, I'd like to point out that much like Corrupted Mario World, I had a crappy hack like such. Corrupt must be common in crappy hacks, because my first hack was Super Corrupt World or, Super Mario Bros: Corrupted. It ended up dying of error incontrolabiltiy, which I could've just ported the ROM and fixed. My next hack, Longest Labyrinth, was your common one-level-long hack that was the size of an entire game. I stopped after the second sublevel due to issues with screen scrolling pipes, and the fact that I was was using Xkas GUI and made shit out of my freespace. My next failed hack, Terror in Subcon (something like that), I finished the entire first world, than decompression of graphics bullshit appeared and not even porting my ROM could fix it. Then there was Spark, my puzzle game where you played as Spark and could only move by touching walls. I still have a working copy, but the fact that I couldn't let you die made it so all of the levels were too easy (I couldn't let you die because of how that hack's level system was setup). Then came Mario is Missing, a hack a quit due to various storyline-caused issue and with Mario ExGFX and VWF Dialogues and such. My current hack I had to start all over from the start because all of my stuff disappeared from the folders for some strange reason, with no trace of ever being moved or deleted.

BIG post...

SUPER MARIO STARLIGHT DX
This was my first serious attempt at a hack, meaning it wasn't going to be a collection of blatant level edits. For some reason, Mario could swim through water normally, but would walk on it as if it were a ledge once he surfaced. I've recently begun referring to this as the Jesus Glitch. It caused me to cancel the hack about halfway through because I had no idea what caused it and didn't consider porting everything to a clean ROM.

SUPER MARIO BROS. 5
I completed and released a 2-World demo of this one in early 2007 and continued to work on it until the summer. At that point, recurring Hacker's Block caused me to just lose interest and cancel the hack. Another contributing factor was my inability to log into SMW Central. I wasn't aware at the time that the Great Wipe reset EVERYTHING, including user data.

I've considered canceling my current hack several times due to the frustration brought on by things like glitches and Hacker's Block. Thankfully, aside from polishing, the hack is complete. I may even have it ready in time for C3.

Eh, cancelling hacks. It's terrible. Besides from the Devious Four Chronicles hacks that I've canceled. (It's clear they'll be remade) Only hacks I've canceled are these:

Hikari: The Fourth Sector - Supposed to be sequal to "Mario: The Fourth Sector." Cancelled simply because I didn't like the character I made and the plot was sorta dumb. If you're going to retell a story of something, simply just REWRITE the thing. That is why there is now "D4C#5: The Fourth Sector"

SCORPION's Ion Storm - Now "D4C#9 - The Black Hole". Originally, Scorpion would team up with ************* (Censored name) and create an ion storm that would shut the world in a darkish blue tint. Cover the earth in machines. (Clearly a Matrix ripoff) However, the whole story has been rewritten into what is now, the end of the Devious Four Chronicles.

Other than that, I've canceled my first 4 hacks, which is all in a series called Scorpion's Wrath. They just don't fit today's standards. Actually, they didn't fit 2008's standards.
Oh crap. I have realised I have quit or put on hold every hack I have made. Hopefully, C3 will change that.
I have quit at least 20 hacks, if you could call them "hacks" at all. Actually I have never even finished a whole level in my entire life. Hacking is such a boring and annoying task.

Big Boo's Revenge. I was somewhere in world 2, and had to make an OW, but really didn't want to and I lost motivation.

But right now I'm working on something better...
all of them because i have a hard time making levels.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Same here. I just remake levels that aren't up to my standard as time goes on.

Oh god, where should I start.
Mario Ex - Can't remember
SMB+ - Glicth in GFX
Mario! A New Era V1.0 - Never got finished!
SMB+ 2: Mario Ex and MANE Revived! - Lost files#
Super Mario AQTT - Rubbish hack overall.
Super Mario! The Wrath Of Bowser - No idea!
Special II - Lost files.
Mario A New Era V2.0 - Lack of motivation.
PAC-MAN - Same as above!

Wow. That's the ones I remember. I hope I finish my current one though ;)
I'm still working on the first hack I've ever started too. Of course I'm always re-editing prior levels to better fit to the newer ones by including things I only found out after the levels were actually finished (i.e. custom blocks/custom palletes/ExGFX/etc.).

Okay, in the time I hack SMW I have started some Kaizo hacks and some really crappy joke hacks that I have never finished or released anywhere, but that doesn't count as they were never meant to be finished and/or released anyway. I just made them 'cause I was bored.
