You could say I tried to revive SMWCP, but doing so is much easier when you have a person with authority to watch over the whole thing.

It DID work out in the end though... I'm thankful for that. ^^

I think everyone needs a break from everything for a little bit. In April, we had this, the Idol, and something else (I can't remember what) all running at once. I thought the server was going to fry.

As soon as this and the Idol judging is done, everyone needs a breather. . .until C3.
Don't forget that the Choco Level Contest is going on as well. So, we won't get a break until after C3. O_o

@TheGamer: It most likely is the invisible solid block sprites. Can't you just make a Map16 tile transparent and have it act like a cement block for the same results?

Or if you need sprites to pass through it, you could use a custom block. There's really no reason to use the invisible solid sprite if you have custom blocks inserted.
Thanks ZMann and FirePhoenix, yes, i need sprites to pass but not Mario, so i will need to search this custom block. It seems that he is in the base rom already. thanks the help.

Due to the google ads being down, Kieran needs money or he will have to shut the site down.
But he also said that that isn't an option and that we will find a way around.

Brief update on where we're at right now:

edit1754 sent me some updated ExGFX files (greatly optimized) which cut the IPS file size down by .04 MB, which is pretty awesome. It'll likely allow room for some more "extra" stuff at the end (mostly extra aesthetics and such). Due to bugs in the bosses - which seem to be sorted out now - the project's release date will likely be pushed back again. That, and I'm still waiting on people who said they were going to send me a level update.

..and there is probably some other small stuff I'm forgetting.
That's a decent amount of file size that was cut. I'm sure the ROM is bursting at the seams, so any wiggle room is probably a good thing.

Again, I'm always happy to shoot off a custom track, if only to replace that last vanilla song.
I'm sure you guys already know my boss (that spiny one) keeps breaking (in zsnes it freezes, in other emulators the boss simply doesn't show up). Yesterday I've figured out the reason, thanks to SNN who sent me some files.

The reason... is pretty simple, but it is the thing I fear the most in my entire ASM life.

My boss sprite + fireball, they get inserted in bank $CF. That's the FastROM equivalent of bank $4F. See: It's beyond bank $40. And I'm sure that most of you guys know what that means.

diet edit has been optimizing GFX files so they take up less space; I hope it'll do wonders in the next sprite insertion.

oh, sorry about that, it's almost done, i just need to fix a small problem here...
Can i send you the updated map 16 page with the zip, or i will need to request it in the other thread? And is the Sprites only(38D) Block working? i need it to finish my level for good. And that's just it.

All blocks should be working by the next base ROM update. Also, you can just dump the Map16 page in the Map16 thread. I won't actually update the pictures anymore, but I'll insert what you give me.

No more SMWCP editing for me, just give me a nice clean final product in about the future.

now, About the the Toad town, to tell the truth, i don't liked it at all, not that the level layout is bad or anything like it, but the way the ExGFX was used was the problem.
Lets start.

To start with, the ExGFX looks like a piece of paper, really, it have no shading at all, and the palettes it use is pretty boring as well, The mushroom houses may use a shading by the sides and have white dots on the top, and look at Mario, he's floating! This tile need to be fixed too.


That was just, bad. why not use a unique decoration on the 3 main buildings?(Bar, shop, and the coin thing) and the way the coins are used in this place also is kind of bad.


A bar is a place with a dark ambience, fiting music and spots with proper ilumination. and tables randomly put in the place, with some ups and downs. and the bar right now it is pretty empty, and lack decorations, the houses lack it too.

The town also need a small level hidden somewhere, like a small puzzle, to find some NPC or something. The houses need to be entered, and have different design in all of them, to give some variation.

If the toad town is unfinished, my bad. i just feel like pointing that out.

The blocks and events (NPCs) aren't inserted yet .. but yeah. When Atma made that, he and I both sort of agreed that they weren't the greatest graphics. LunarDrake's set was rather awesome, but it wasn't properly assembled and therefore didn't really work out.
I actually like the Toad Town graphics. They are plain and simple, like Toad Town should be.

But can the background please be changed? Right now, it looks like level 105. Even something as simple as a palette swap and some VHDMA (if there's room) would be better than what I see now.
Yeah. The BG doesn't need to be too fancy, really.

If anyone wants to even pick one out of the ExGFX section that they think will work, that would be fine.
