Golden Rex is no more

After more than six months of strenuous work on the project, I've decided to scrap golden rex.


I'm sorry to everyone who anticipated this part of C3, it's just not going to happen.

























...I scared you there for a bit, didn't I? Yes, I've finally learned to dynamic-sprite, and with that comes something important: Golden Rex is now Co-op Luigi!

This new version is super buggy, as I just started the rearrangements started (yes, started) at about noon today. Before that I had absolutely no knowledge of dynamic sprites. Now, I present to you, a brand new version of the co-op sprite, now co-op Luigi, right here!

I admit it, you did scare me there for a second.

Even though you say that Luigi has a load of bugs, it doesn't seem like it. It looks like he plays incredibly smoothly and it looks like you've one upped your old Golden Rex sprite.

Damn, that is really awesome! I can't believe you actually coded all that...the graphics, the controls, everything! o_o Well, I don't know how you did it, but I can't wait to see the final version. I may even be able to find a use for it in the new hack I plan to work on.

A little question I have. It seems like some interaction graphics don't show up when you do stuff, I.E. spin jump on an enemy. Is this fixable?

Still awesome sprite. There's still a few things that could be changed. I'd suggest that you disable H scrolling when Luigi in on the end of the screen. So that both players will have to move.

And before I try this, how does the death handling work? Does Mario die when Luigi die? Or does Luigi die when Mario dies? Or have made this thing so good that you can continue playing as Luigi when Mario dies?
Man, you got me. I can see all the netplay potential coming out of this already! Can't wait for a final, or stable version.
You should program NSMBWII life saving bubbles. (Press select and you're instantly stuck in a bubble that you can't get out of until the other player touches you. While in it you just float around invincible.)
