Hey, welcome to my C3 booth everyone! I kind of hesitated to showcase some stuff this time, but at the last hour I tried to wrap things up.

Unlike my old Blue Shell powerup, this one is a collectible item. You can use the shell for a customizable amount of time and use it to kill enemies. It can also be set to flash and disappears in a puff of smoke.

I made this a while ago, it's the hammer from Paper Mario with some code from mikeyk's sprite.

And the last sprite I made for C3 is an update to my boss sprite which you can find here.

In the new update, you can now customise the size of the sprite! It can be set to be 16x32 or 32x32. You can now also edit a lot more sound effects. In case you don't know what this sprite does, it is a highly customizable boss sprite. A very early demonstration of it can be seen in this video:

That's a health patch I made a while ago, it's similar to the one in Paper Mario. You can have separate health values for each file too.

Pause menu patch I've been fiddling a lot with for months. This is actually Bio's menu, but a lot of it has been modified to make it more easier to customize, understand and more has been added. I decided to keep this version exclusive initally, but there wasn't any use really so I thought I'd release it this C3.

The readme.txt should explain everything. It just comes with a blank menu but you should be able to add some stuff yourself like cursors, submenu etc., it's pretty simple if you have some ASM knowledge.

Credit Bio as well if you plan to use that.

Lastly, I worked on another ASM tutorial, this one with pictures and diagrams, for a couple of weeks. It was supposed to cover a lot of stuff such as sprites and patches, but I didn't work on it after explaining blocks.

I highly recommend reading it if you are new to ASM because it explains basic opcodes, how to make blocks and explains some common RAM Addresses.

I wanted to show another patch but it has currently has a bug. I might get it ready by tomorrow but I'm not so sure if there's enough time..
*faints* Holy crap Iceguy, some of this stuff is just plain amazing! I remember seeing that item menu thinking how you would never release it, because it was just so awesome. Definitely the best thread so far.

Blaze's Booth Review: Iceguy's ASM

I have been seeing things of the past nature shown and now they are being released. All this ASM is really unique and will make for some great hacks.

Rating 10/10

Sure there might be bugs, but the sheer amount of content makes this perfect.

I allmost died from excitement, soooooo much of this stuff I need for my... Secret progect...
Just awesome. I especially like the Paper Mario Hammer and the NSMB Shell.
It looks like the RPG market's been hit heavily this C3. I can't wait to use that pause menu. :D

Holy crap, Iceguy! Some of this stuff is straight up outstanding! I love the Paper Mario Hammer, and the Goomba Boss is cool.
The Paper Mario health patch is kind of weird, like, can you decide how much damage each enemy does, or is that a set amount?
Either way, you are a god at ASM. :>

Oh, that is just...awesome.

Iceguy, will you ever stop making cool ASM stuff?! (Please don't. You know we all love it.) That shell powerup looks very interesting, as does the hammer one. The Paper Mario health patch...well, that is exactly what I need for my hack, so I'll definitely be using that. (I have to ask, though...does the sprite permanently disappear after you collect it? If not, that could be a problem. The player could collect the same sprite more than once. I didn't look through the code all that thoroughly, but I didn't see where it checks if it has already been collected.) The pause menu, well, even though it was mostly Bio's code, that has to be one of the best ASM hacks ever to grace SMW Central. Hm, other than the health patch, I don't think I have room for this stuff in my current hack...but it's just too cool not to use in a future hack. It will be great for the sequel!

Excellent job, Iceguy. Don't let it go to your head (you know the stereotype of people who are good at ASM...snotty, elitist pricks who can't stand helping others or giving any of their stuff away to the public), but take pride in your work nevertheless.

ahh, I remember that HP patch (since I still have old versions of it). Did you fix the directional error with it (taking a set damage from one side, regardless of enemy)?

...man, I've been involved in a lot of C3 stuff it seems.
It's true, the Pause menu and the hammer power-up is the best one...

SUPER EPIC RANT
Iceguy, I seem to have found a problem with your Paper Mario styled Hammer sprite.

It doesn't seem to show up when you are above the sub-screen boundary (the thing that cuts off the Yoshi coins). It acts normal, but the graphics don't show. I might have messed something up without knowing, I'm not sure. Just telling you an error I found.
