Actually, I don't think he meant it that way at all. It's not just him anyway, I do see threads pop up every once in a while complaining about recent hacks being not-so-great.

..I personally don't agree much since it's pretty easy to just sort the hacks to show you the highest rated ones, but I still can't blame other people for having different tastes.

I too think he didn't mean it that way.
And (since you asked me) yes, you are being unnecessarily rude by going out on a limb and snarkily telling him to "do better" based on your misinterpretations. It's not like he's saying that his hack is the best and that nobody can argue against that.

And reading the hack-rejection thread of your so-called good hack is hilarious. Tell yourself that all those meh hacks were accepted, while yours was rejected. Stacked munchers, cutoffs, emptiness, enemy spam, huge difficulty spikes, blatant edits of vanilla levels: yeah, sounds like a good hack!

When did he say it was a good hack? He may have implied it was "better" than some others that get accepted but you blatantly assumed that's what he meant. While I personally disagree that "most" hacks are meh, he has a right to an opinion and you're baselessly shitting on it.

Whomever posted the Sturgeon's Law link won this thread for me, because that's a universal constant of every work produced for their respective mediums.
If you want your hack to be part of the 1 percent in this present time you got to make it appeal to people with creative ideas unique to the hack in order for them to consider for featuring. Hacks that people on here talk about a lot tend to belong to the 1% of things because of that above being recognized in the community, or that they have pioneered what can be done with SMW Hacking (which is the case for older hacks like from the past 2 decades).

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

There's no reason to be hostile and rude towards the OP, especially when they aren't complaining about the fact their hack got rejected years ago. They admit that it was bad and understood why it was eventually rejected and removed.

Don't do this.
We all have opinions
I just wanted to give mine to see if people agree and what not

Maybe you agree, maybe not but for me I like hacks that push more then just adding x custom sprites that I see lots of hacks do

My hack had big problems and will never be a 5/5 hack but hopefully it will stick out enough

After all the reason I keep trying years later is the fact I like to see people playing my hack on Youtube and because I think it sticks out enough

Obviously tons of good hacks exist but like with anything tons of generic hacks will also be around but thats the fun of it
People try to see what people will like, some better then others but always trying just like I am doing

On the one hand, everyone has the right to make whatever they want to make. Don't want to come across as if I'm any kind of authority on what anyone else's vision should be.

But, what makes a hack stand out to me is when I'm hooked right away, and what it takes to hook me is to make a good first impression with a mature project. I don't personally feel it benefits a project to show it off when you're still in a state where you have only one or two levels in a hack, unless your hack is only going to have a small number in total.

At the same time, showing off daily progress early on will clue in other members to point out your obvious flaws and steer you away from them before you go too far.

I highly disagree with that statement. We don't add kaizo hacks to annoy people, we make them for the Twich and YouTube streamers (or friends) that are actually good at the game. You people just need to stop complaining about kaizo hacks and play the stuff you like. And if you think it's annoying that kaizo hacks are everywhere in the SMW hack submissions, than filter them out! So stop freaking complaining about kaizo, it's getting really annoying when people do that.

And I'm not trying to be rude, just posting my opinion.
