crm0622's totally ordinary port thread. (mostly unsampled... maybe?)

Uhh, Hi everyone...
So, I decided to make thread about my ports because I want to show my personal porting works (May not frequently update this thread though, because I port when I need for my kaizo hack.)
Anyway, here's my first port ever! (Originally, I was going to submit to smwc but I changed plan because a reason I can't say.)
Anyway, enjoy! (Even this is unsampled and not very accurate...)

My third custom port! (I like this song a lot, personally.)

Admittedly I have a tough time swallowing smw instruments but a good port is a good port. What could make it better? I've no idea but keep it up!
Late reply, Thanks, Brozilla! :)
So, this time I ported this for title screen of my kaizo hack.
This music may fit title screen or maybe pre-final stage etc...
Anyway, enjoy!
(Don't forget the credit when you use my port!)

(Perhaps next time, I considering I will try to port something using sample, but not main focus...)
Hello!
So, as I promised, I decided to make port using samples!
Today's song is this!
Enjoy! :)

I forgot to include sor2 sample folder...
So, here's quick fix!

Doesn't sound too bad at first but it didn't seem to make the transition all too well. Part of it is the sampling and admittedly techno samples are hard to come across for the SNES.
It sounds a bit slow/lazy and the lack of "punch" results in a lethargic sound. More aggressive ADSR might fix a few issues but it will only go so far. Always good to keep at it.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Yeah, I think I should pick the better instruments and better set the ASDR settings.
Perhaps I think I will update the port later...

Anyway this time, I tried to port this music to smw!
(I think this is one of most hardest attempts ever...)
May fit for night theme stages etc...
Enjoy! :)

Alright...
This time, I decided to port another difficult (but easier than that sky tower) song.
(Note that some parts are different than original. But despite this, I think at least managed to keep menacing feel somehow... :P)
Well, enjoy! :)

Max Man, like the previous SoR 2, did not carry over to the SNES well. To achieve better results you might need to consider using samples from different [more obscure] SNES titles or try less to sound like the original.

The latter is important because if you force a certain sound onto a sample-set it'll expose its weaknesses. Similar to a violin attempting to play a viola solo, it may not sound bad (depends on player skill) but it may not convey the same message due to the lacking solemn timbre.

I think Sky Tower is a better translation. The instruments used were a step in the right direction. Rather impartial because I don't find the source material too great lol so I think a good pat on the back is deserved.
Bump!
It's been awhile since my last post of this thread... :P
Anyway, here's something from famous genesis game that I recently made!
Enjoy! :)
