Super Wakana Land - Teaser trailer and pics

Hi again.

For those who don't know, I'm working under the scenes on my hack, Super Wakana Land. My original plan was to submit this C3, but the lack of a boss, as well as countless issues in it, made me hold it.

Although, for you now I have this trailer.
It's not much, but I hope you like what's been showing in it.

Together with it, some pics:

Hope you look forward it. Enjoy!
A wonderful trailer of a wonderful hack by a wonderful person #w{<3}

Lovely trailer.
The different ways in which you can traverse the levels by either ground pounding or floating really allows for different and abstract level designs.

The GFX all fits together and everything from small touches to smaller details really make for a robust and entertaining game.

Looking forward to the full released and any other updates. :D
I have no words to describe how wonderful that trailer looks to me specially with that bgm
I cant wait for it #smw{<3}
Awesome! Can't wait for the release soon.

I love your work, Wakana!!
this really looks interesting, i love the graphics style specially the player one she looks cute #w{<3}
Its jowke
Layout by LDA during C3.
The work and effort that is being put into this is mind blowing. I would have to say that I really like the second column, third row screenshot the most; but it needs more fairies.
My gosh...O_O

Im hyped. That is all
Hoooooo boi it's getting close! This is one of those hacks you follow for a really long time and can't wait to play! It just looks better every time you show something. My ideal in SMW hacking is being able to match real SNES games in quality. That is obviously incredibly hard to do, especially as most commercial games have a lot more staff than your typical hack project. You might just be approaching that barrier though. How good your hack is remains to be seen, but a lot of us have our hopes up. Please keep doing your best, Wakana!

allow shy guy emojis in post footers you cowards!
This is easily the most impressive hack I've ever seen, visually. Have you thought about doing this/do you do it professionally? Because if you don't you really should. (Also I dig the rainbow HDMA in the last screenshot).

Out of curiosity, why'd you keep some of the SMW sprites (like the saws) the same? It's not a bad thing - they fit decently - did you just not get around to it yet?
Who is that handsome gent at 1:09?

Looking good!

Is the mid-air jump unlimited? It seems really overpowered that way.
The graphics and music for this are excellent!!!!
Thank you everyone for the kind words! All this support gives me great motivation in finishing this. I'll do my best to give you, next C3, a wonderful hack to play.

You mean making it from scratch programming-wise (like, making an actual game or something)? I'll may consider when I'll get better at programming, even though I see this very far from happening (I don't thing it'll happen 100% even, lol. It all depends on what I'm gonna specialize in during my university career).

Despite I'd love to make a total overhaul of the Mario-themed sprites left, I'm not a gfx artist. Plus, making redrawn-ish graphics makes everything even harder. I'll consider this, but don't take my words for granted, that I'll make the overhaul of sprites succesfully.

It's not. It kept the same as in the demo (5 jumps). The rainbow-y level you see at the end of the trailer has them infinite as gimmick. My bad for not pointing it out, lol.
Speaking of it, I was considering adding a status bar counter of it, so that you can easily keep track of how many jumps are left to do.

Hopefully, next C3 you'll see this in a finished state. If you have other feedback, I'll be happy to hear!

He hasn't asked me to draw them yet. #tb{:p} (Speaking out of C3-Character here) I'm very thankful to Wakana for giving me the opportunity to draw for Wakana's hack; I've done quite a large amount of the original graphics one will find in this. The key word is original, not ripped. I've offered Wakana to do more, but Wakana doesn't have the time to do music for me. We kind of work off of one another, I provide Wakana with exclusive/private graphics, and Wakana provides me with private music; a wonderful relationship. Wakana and I are so close as online buddies, I even know what Wakana looks like. :)

It also goes without saying Wakana, that I'm very thankful for the chance to test out the hack as well, which I'm still doing btw.

I'd also like to say, this Undertale-style battle was incredible !!
