That's because I was trying to respond to the situation, not to specific people, because I'm not supposed to make this conversation last even longer than it already has.
But if you insist, I'll try.
It wasn't. I tried to make my post ooze with as much non-seriousness as I could with that silly parody pre-amble for a reason!
I don't know which people you mean here (the people who were upset or the people who thought that you caught the joke), but if it's the latter, then, well, I know for a fact that most of those people knew it was a joke and thought that you were rolling with it because they said so outside of this thread. As I was explaining there, the warnings were being threatened because looking at your response, it was agreed that the joke was fine since the recipient (you) didn't take offense to it and instead played along with it (only seemingly?) and as such all those other people really have no reason to be so mad about something that is harmless and doesn't concern them.
Because as K3fka said, there's no reason people should be flipping out about banter.
From what I can tell the issue came from those people closer to you knowing that you weren't actually terribly fine with it, despite the way you responded. Which lead to that split of people who know you being upset and people who don't know you as much seeing nothing more than banter and people unjustifiedly exploding at it, when in reality that wasn't the case (I think... I'm still not too clear about your stance on that).
Do what, (try to) make jokes? Admittedly this one fell on its face hella hard, but it's kind of not true that I would get away with more than anyone else in that regard.
I mean just look at Torchkas' post, she's one person who everyone and their mom know hates my ass, like my entire ass, with a vengeance and she just made a silly joke about the same topic and nobody thinks twice about it because it's just that, even if you could interpret that as an actual call to violence if you REALLY tried to skew your perspective enough.
I just failed in making my joke as obvious as hers is!
Yeah but this still assumes that it wasn't always supposed to be a joke... if my post were actually serious or hard to decipher as a joke, I'd probably literally be demoted right now because there's already been plenty of talks about this topic in particular, but as I explained above, pretty much everyone that doesn't know you personally and knew what you ACTUALLY thought about it could tell that it was a joke right off the bat, so it's more a case of "leod your joke was bad because it looks super harsh and cocky to people who aren't aware, which is a bad image" rather than "leod stop being a fuckboy".
I didn't ignore that point any more than any other points you or anyone else made, my post was 100% just there to explain the situation to hopefully help people understand that it was a joke that GONE WRONG and was followed by a bundle of misunderstandings (eg. the rest of staff misunderstanding your reaction to it), rather than anything actually intended to be insulting.
Not a really great excuse, but my thought process behind using that phrase in particular was that I've actually 100% legitimately not once ever seen it used in a serious context. As silly as this might sound, that phrase was registered in my head as a completely sarcastic one that nobody could ever mistake for an actual insult.
I've only ever seen and used it myself in the context of, like, beating friends in a game or just making fun of something silly that happened ("haha that guy headshot you across the map, get fucked lmao"), so if that's actually like a heavy phrase then that one's entirely on me.
I guess it's -sort of- a language barrier thing, but I don't really wanna pull that card cause I think I've been fluent enough for a while. More like a cultural barrier, cause we have no equivalent to that phrase here.
On the other hand:
"Shitty vehicle" is not even an insult to any person and if "solid argumentation" is actually bad enough of a sarcastic remark to be worth mentioning then I guess that's too bad, because I honestly absolutely cannot see eye to eye with you on that one.
You would've literally died if you had experienced SNN as an admin if the tiniest little snip that that is is an offense on the level of having to be written down and remembered.
I feel like my explanation of "the entirety of staff thought it's a joke and that's why the warnings thing happened", as well as just the amount of posts right in this thread calling out that people are getting mad at a joke/"funpost", as well as K3fka's entire argument is enough to conclude that this does not need written proof.
Not that I could really give any, because again, when I wrote that reply I tried my hardest to make it as obvious as I could that that reads like a joke, with the whole generic oscar-esque podium speech, lack of punctuation throughout, all-caps and the overt narcissism.
I don't mean this to be like a "wow how didn't you catch that!!" dig because you're obviously not the only one who didn't catch on immediately, but that was my intention despite it falling right flat.
As Hobz hinted at, I didn't really realize how close that caricature came to the image some people actually have of me, just as I guess Hobz didn't realize how close his caricature of a response came to the actual feelings some people have (like the people who agreed with it in this thread).
I hope those responses are good enough for now, because I'm not sure how happy FP and Eevee are gonna be with me for continuing the discussion despite having been told to stop twice

And since my second reply to you, none of these said people from beforehand have given their opinion on the matter of whether it was a joke or not, with my argument and points in mind.

What you got wrong is that I "wasn't into it." Earlier someone else asked me about the situation: my thoughts, what I felt, and to clarify. Part of my response was as follows:

Which brings me to my final point. What you evaded entirely was with the quotes I threw out; they took up half the size of my post; you can't say that it's a negligible point that can just be ignored. I welcome an argument saying it's invalid, but ignoring it in its entirety is intolerable.

never addressed how credible your "it's just a joke" claim is.
