Should these tools be removed from the tools section?

What about those who still use YY-CHR? after all, I use that tool myself and it's got some advantages over Graphic Editor.

Edit: the .NET YY-CHR works for some users, so it should stay. After all, not everyone likes that tool and thinks it's better like you.
Tessera, Cluster, and any other spritetool will get taken down soon.
I do agree the 32x32 player tool should get nuked.

Tessera, Romi's ST, Cluster Spritetool and Overworld Spritetool will all be removed once both the remoderation are complete and PIXI is in a 100% stable state (right now it likes to just freeze entirely for a lot of people and has no OW sprite support, those are all coming in an upcoming update).

I'll bring up Split 32X with asm mods cause I don't know what it was for and what the patch changed to make it obsolete but they probably do.

As for the ones regarding Graphic Editor, I'm not sure why you're calling it standard cause all things considered YY-CHR is still more widely used and it's not actually a straight upgrade to the program, just an alternative.
Your layout has been removed.

the old version of the 32x32 patch had 2 files named leftgfx.bin and rightgfx.bin

they were both the same size and format as the regular gfx32.bin, except one contained the left half of the player tilemap and the other the right half. working with mario's gfx is annoying enough as-is, so imagine having to go back and forth between 2 files. so kipernal's tool would merge leftgfx.bin and rightgfx.bin temporarily to allow for easier editing of the player gfx

the 32x32 patch was eventually updated so that there would only be 1 player gfx file. additionally, this file is organized in a way that makes it very simple to edit the player gfx. so tool became obsolete

the only reason to keep it is if someone is still using the old version of the patch (which is not recommended) or if i/someone ever decide to revert the patch back to the old format (which is not a good idea)
Split32X seems to be gone. I still stand by my position that all 6 tools on my list are unneeded, and the other 5 are still there, however.

Did you even read the posts about YY-CHR and YY-CHR.NET? From this information here, it seems you have not read them and the fact that YY-CHR is used more widely than Graphic Editor would make it trivial to not have YY-CHR/YY-CHR.NET in the Tools section.

I read those posts; and reading those posts did not change my opinion. I strongly believe that YY-CHR is a very badly designed tool that should no longer be used. That YY-CHR is more widely used [citation needed] has no effect on its actual design quality.

Which still means it'll stay. Graphic editor is really obscure, especially when you compare it to the other editors including YY-CHR, and the fact there's a ton of graphic editors all over the place. Not to mention Graphic Editor is 99% SMW only so you can't load an NES ROM or an MSX ROM without editing the tool itself and having it load 2BPP NES or w/e format other than Mode7, 4BPP, and 2BPP GB. Plus the way the tool is set it'll think that a 21KB file is Mario GFX and remap pointers and the way it's set up so it looks "proper" to the tool, ut useless garbage to the user. Oh, and

No citation is needed. Look at a ton of romhacking sites and you'll see that YY-CHR is used quite prominently (including SMWC itself), and it lets you rip/port/convert graphics between formats (let's see if Graphic Editor can do that) and lets you paste whatever you copied from MS Paint too. You'll probably encounter tools similar to Graphic Editor, but they're probably not used very often.

If you consider the graphics editor to be better then that's fine, but what does it actually matter to you whether YY-CHR is hosted here or not?

The Graphics Editor as already mentioned is not an upgrade to YY-CHR but simply an alternative to it, which of the two you use or recommend is entirely up to you to decide.
