Bad hacks that you somehow enjoy playing

For me I like a lot of Japanese hacks despite their difficulty and unfairness. What's really weird though is that I like playing Hammer Brother by blackout77. Don't ask me why, I have no idea. It can be pretty annoying tho.

Is it weird that i was looking for the user who made it 1 or 2 days ago? Anyway, i wanted to keep playing The Ultimate Yoshiharu World because the graphic's looked nice and almost every level had custom music. Sadly i stopped playing at one of the ghost house levels because you couldn't bring Yoshi with you and i had no idea how you could get the trampoline and get up the wall.

okay but seriously, I like the JP hacks that try to be mostly decent - Hyper 4-6, VIP 3-5+what's finished of VIP6 (FAINAL and nbr's garbage stages nonwithstanding), Sui Mario, the Futsuu na Kaizou Mario demo, 3000 Leagues, Gokudou Mario etc - but I dunno if those count as bad hacks outright since they actually try to be good

and I liked Brutal Mario until I replayed it a few weeks ago lol

chaos complexx doesn't count, it's a misunderstood masterpiece

Why does difficult and/or unfair equal bad, though? There are lots of very high quality hacks that are both exceptionally difficult and unfair.

As for my answer, I get some enjoyment out of BLACK's old hacks and S Mario, but probably not enough for me to justify playing through them toolless again.
I can't get past S Mario's first level. It's so brutal but I love the way it tells you "this is how the hack is going to be".

Probably because the people who dislike those hacks play them tool-less.

Hi.
I love playing ironically bad hacks, and enjoy light-difficult Kaizo hacks with savestates.
Also I somewhat enjoy playing the bottom entries of various contests, if only because terribleness has a humor to it. It would probably get old fast though.
There was this hack called "Fried Rice" a while back. It was funny how the hacker made it so the game would crash on purpose then on the next screen justify the philosophical significance of the crash.

yes Epic Nothing was actually very fun to play. Even more fun to TAS. I contribute to bad hacks so that they become worse.

Oh yeah Pandora's Box too :D
