[Non-level] So I had this weird idea

*looks around*

No judges here? Cool!

*exhales*

Sooo, last year the judges surprised us with World X. They might do it this year as well. But this time it probably wouldn't surprise us that much. And judging is a hard job and them doing judging+build a level would be a bit too much for them, wouldn't it? Especially if they get nothing in return for it.

We could change that. We could maybe do them a favour. What about doing a thing on our own to surprise them? Four judges, four levels. We could do 4 levels dedicated to them.

A level with eggs and ninjis for ninja boy, for example.

Sooo, what do you think? Do you have suggestions for improvement? Maybe more ideas? Or tell me why that is a terrible idea that won't work? Anything goes!
Sounds very interesting. If this even get real, I could help.
nothing to say

I'd also like to help, if this even becomes a thing, that is.
I play forum games and draw furries. I'm mostly active on Discord and Twitter.

Unless the levels exceed or is at least on par on what would be first place, all this would be is another level for them to play. It's kinda pointless.
Would it really bother them to play a level just for them? Like, we don't have to send all four of them four levels. We could just send one level to the specific judge.

Also, ideas I've received for the levels:

Koopster:
dubstep

Eternity:
infinite level (infinite sign as coins, infinite sign in the background), pipe at the end that leads to the beginning (you have to find the exit)

Well, yeah, if the level sucks and/or isn't all that interesting. Another thing is that World X wasn't aimed at a very small and specific group of people (in your idea, the judges), it was aimed at the player; if the player had enough patience to find all the exits in the sea of less-than-stellar levels from last year's VLDC, they'd be awarded the entry to a world of high quality levels with a fancy overworld map.
In this case, there would be nothing remotely exciting as a reward for the hassle that is playing through the VLDC. I mean, sure, the judges might think the idea is fun and might even be thankful, but what about the player? They'll probably be frustrated to find out that the ~S E C R E T~ levels were just more average stuff. What's the poing of unlocking a grand total of 4 (four) more average levels if you just went through a whole hack composed almost entirely of exactly that?
Honestly, the issue is pretty much what GSG (aka Frost that name sucks btw ;)) said, not to mention: Who's going to decide who designs what? We obviously want good level designers to design levels, because they're good level designers, but I'm pretty sure that would just lead to petty fighting over the fact that X and Y didn't get to design whatever it was that they wanted to because The Big Meanies didn't let them.

tl;dr seems like a poorly thought out idea basically due to the reasons gsg aka frost mentioned

Huh, who said that these levels would be put into the collab? They're primarily solely for the judges. Whether Jack and the other staff members would want to put it into the collab is their decision, if it even becomes a thing.

And the judges have to play all entries, they are the players who are patient enough to play all the levels, including secret exits.

I don't think the judges will say 'woah, that level sucked and was a total waste of time', considering the newly applied 500 second-rule. They are good people who probably would not be angered at a level given to them. It's like a delayed Secret Santa, where their submission was last year and ours could be this year.

Then again, there's also the thing that I doubt that the demand of building a level for a judge would be that high that people would fight for the level rights (because that'd make it a nasty competition). And if that was the case, people could make sublevels and it could be split up. Alternatively we could also do it like vldc8 where there were severals rooms (with the difference that the levels would be shorter). And as we'd use this judge-free forum to do the idea, everybody except guests and judges can view the levels and suggest improvements.

@Sokobansolver

That'd also be a neato idea. Adding easter eggs with ideas in the entries would certainly make things more fun.

It was kind of implied by the way you worded your post (which was basically "what if we did world x but backwards???"). The fact that they won't be put into the collab does change everything, though. Now all you have to do is make sure the levels are good lol.

Soo, does anybody have ideas for Nimono or Koopster?
Sounds unnecessary and uninteresting.

Now that the deadline's over and we'd have enough time to do this thing, would people be interested in creating this surprise present?
Fast autoscroll for ninono because he judges so fast

I am interested in creating a (sub)level, but it's probably going to be too hard again
