overworld stuffs

o.k., i'm working on an overworld submission for the current ow contest, and i was wondering how we would know how to match the maps with the levels. im mostly concerned with the colors, but the decorations and such as well.

the things im mostly stumped on are the industrial, abstract, best, and worst worlds. there are a lot of things that could match those general descriptions and its got me stumped. (i don't want to go through designing it and lose the contest by not having it match)

im not trying to have someone make it for me, or baby my way through it, i just want a slightly more specific description of what im supposed to be making, or a better description of the levels in those worlds

Perhaps the best way to imagine a theme for that specific overworld segment would be to play a few levels from each world and see the general environment. You can then try to project it the best you can onto your overworld entry. Note in that post you can also see the theme of the level so that would also help especially if you are not willing to play some levels. I do not except the overworld to be perfect but you should try to the best level you can in consistency and design.

Good luck!
