Well, in the tutorial it reads the 4-7 are used for SFX then "4,6,7 especially* so channel 5 should be fine to use if you really need an extra channel.
I made a standalone game once, look for Seabug Stampede on Google Play.
Hey S.N.N.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
no one notices anything i do..........UNTIL I DON'T DO IT!
Stupid question but I really need to know the answer.

I've been using the old, original, version of addmusic. Don't ask why, I don't know either. Anyways, how do you make the endless P-Switch Glitch nonexistent? Is that fixed in newer versions of Addmusic? Or is there something else I have to do?
Here, I'll quote Isaac's answer to the same problem

This will also fix the endless star glitch too.

EDIT: Also, beaten. Curse my fast-but-not-faster-than-Dagx typing speed.
Thank you very much.
Lol, I've tried so many times, I just can't get it right.
My idea is that we make a tutorial using YouTube, & make a really good tutorial so good that you don't have to be a genius to get it.

You may wanted to post this in the "SMW Screenshots and Video Megathread". XD
DAMN, 2ND TIME!! >:D

I saved the .txt as a .rtf because I highlighted the exact part that needs the pitch change. I really don't know anything about music, and going up an octave is too much of a pitch change, so I need some help.

Also, if you could suggest a better instrument for #0, that would be great :)

Anyone? You just have to change 2 lines of notes to a higher pitch. I really need help with this because I don't know anything about music and I haven't been able to get it to sound correctly... It should be easy for people who compose their own music...
I have this channels:

Mega Mario:
Can anyone help me???
When I open my rom with music inserted, Lunar Magic says:
The ROM's checksum is incorrect, which means the file is probably corrupt. Although Lunar Magic can still open the ROM, it may be wise to replace it.

I don't understand what i'm doing wrong, i expanded the rom to a 1 MB, i put INIT first in addmusic, after i inserted the custom music (of this page) and when i open my rom in lunar magic appears that warning¬¬

please ignore my bad english :D (i speak spanish xD)
i really hate addmusic, and addmusic hates me too XD

Well you're not doing anything wrong. That happens everytime I insert music and I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone else.

I finally finished Tetris Type B thanks to spigmike's help. I'm not so sure if instrument 5 is the best for the main channel though, so I'm still open to suggestions. The big problem was having to manually readjust some of the notes (maybe the GB version is different from the Brawl version, but what the MIDI had was crap and I had to replace it with Brawl's version of the melody).

SPC

At least I managed to get the filesize super tiny (90% of the notes were 16th notes), and hopefully it's a lot better than my other recent songs (which I'm redoing).

Comments?
Nothing wrong with the melody, and the instruments seem to work out well. I'm assuming this is your first port - it sounds really good for a first attempt.
Hello, new hacker here. I've pretty much nailed how to add custom music I've downloaded from this site to the rom using AddMusic Made Easy, but I'm having trouble adding music that I made myself. I created a short midi of the Lonesome Dove theme and used MID2MML to create an mml file. Using spigmike's custom music tutorial as a guide I tried to tweak the mml into what seems to be the typical SMW hack format. However, even though AMME adds it to the rom no problem, it doesn't actually play when I run it in the emulator, and when I try to enter a level it hangs at the MARIO START! screen. Here's what the mml looks like:

Since music I download from this site work fine, I assume it's not the adding to the rom that's the problem, but the mml code. I hope you all can help me out.
You forgot to add the q7f in the header. Afaik the song will not work without it. You also don't have the speaker position set, but I don#t think that's causing your problems. Still, it can't hurt to get the header right, it looks a bit weird with the "T45" at channel 1 and what is that "Ll8"? If that's supposed to be the l-command, you only need to put l8, not Ll8.

Here's a example of what your header could look like:

I'm aware there are several possibilities to set up all the commands here, but for a start, I would try to set up up like that.

Btw, I noticed you are using channels 1,2,3,4 for music information. I would suggest to start with channel 0 instead, since channels 4,5,7 are used for sound effects so that could distract the music. I f you're going only for 4 channels, just use 0,1,2,3 and you stay out of the sound effects chennels at all. (Not that this is causuíng your problems - it's not.)

Thanks, FPI, that did the trick, though I'm going to have to turn the volume way up. That Ll8 stuff was there in the code when I used MID2MLL and I didn't want to mess with it. Actually, the original MID2MLL conversion worked after simply adding the #0 w120 t45 as a header, but everything played in one channel; that is, a single instrument played the entire thing from top to bottom.
I am good with SMW hacking, but my main problem is with addmusic and addmusic made easy. I have tried many times and followed tutorials on youtube, and i can't get it to work. I am not lazy but, can someone make me a ROM with a 0x200 byte header and the 16-bit Super Mario Galaxy music in it? I have succeeded in adding music once, but that was a long time ago. When I played it on my emulator SNES9x, It said sound stopped. Can I have some help or the ROM file?
Who knows what post number this is?
