Super Mario World Gligar13vids Revise Demo 1

Link Thread Closed
Details for Super Mario World Gligar13vids Revise Demo 1
Hack Name: Super Mario World Gligar13vids Revise Demo 1 Demo - 18.9 KB - 16 downloads.
Length: 2 levels
Author: tylersuperwiigamer - Submitted by: tylersuperwiigamer
Description: Demo For Easy Dumb Men.

P.S Pic Is A Beta Pic

Reasons for removal:

Highly simple edits of original levels, with no apparent effort put into the levels at all... or anything else, for that matter, which is a violation of rule 2 and 12. Next to every single sprite was removed from the levels, which doesn't make this a very fun hack to play. It's also super short, with only 2 edited levels in the whole hack.

Sample:

Sorry, but this hack doesn't have much of a future if the next level will be done similarly. Start over, and remember the hotkey Ctrl+Delete to wipe levels so you can build your own.

Also, a slightly blurred crop of an emulator window printscreen isn't an acceptable screenshot. Most emulators have a screenshot function, which should give you a lossless quality 256x224 picture that would be the most suitable type to include in your submission, if you didn't know already.

If you're planning on submitting more hacks to the site, read our hack submission guidelines, and keep them in mind when you're designing the levels.

This hack violates the following Hack Submission guidelines:
2, 5, 12, 13

Most of us do. Maybe this particular person was one of the few who ignored them.

Most of us regulars do.

The ratio is different for newcomers like this one.

My Hack Was Made To Be Easy And Not Change A Lot Of Level Design And Last There Was No Bad Guys Because They Were Going To Gone Anyway Shape Or Form
Blatant edits of original levels aren't really interesting to anyone. People want to see something new.

Besides, people want something challenging, not a level where you can walk around and face no enemies at all. Being unable to lose breaks the sense of a game.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

Blatant level edits (as in, levels where there are some edits while leaving the original SMW design) aren't interesting at all. It just look for something that people played a billion times.

Try to look around this level design tutorial and at some accepted hacks to see what we actually expect in normal hacks. Good luck!

FAKEDIT: dammit Koopster you ninja'd me #w{>=(}

After playing through the hack. I will admit, it's not the most creative one ever made. But, that is only the case if don't know the story behind it. Gligar13vids is a very amatuerish revjewer on YouTube. Who says, and I quote 'super Mario World is to Hard". This hack is clearly set up as way to make fun of him. The creator made it easier, so that little boys, who complain the not every game is Call of Duty, can beat it.

The hack isn't ment to be taken seriously. It's a joke hack, poking fun at one indivual, and should be taken as such.
That the point of the hack man.

If you want, feel free to post the hack in the filebin. Since joke and kaizo hacks really aren't allowed in the database, your files page would be a great place to put hacks like that.

That has nothing to do with our hack rules.

The Guidelines exist to prevent half-ass stuff from being submitted to this site. We don't accept joke hacks 99% of the time. Like Alcaro and the others said, too little has been edited for this to be accepted. Perhaps continue working on this and change more of it. Make it longer, too.
Your layout has been removed.
I actually made an LP of this and would've posted it to youtube if the video recording hadn't exploded while I was at the yellow Switch. 5 seconds after seeing the screenshot I knew this was going to be rejected.
Thank you for making Outrageous Mario World the 11th most downloaded hack on the site!

Ham Sandwich progress: v1378 (Now with more arbitrary version numbering than ZGC!) Waiting to get around to working on it again.

I occasionally stream ROM hacks on Yoshi Lighthouse's Twitch account. Be sure to check it out!

Yeah, thought that too. Sorry for backseat modding, but the 2nd demo is crappy too.

Ok I Gonna Make A Great Hack That Somebody Going To Do A Let play On It Ok
Just note that having an LP isn't neccesarily good. When my hack got its first LP, I was shocked, mainly because when I was a little n00b like you, I thought I was a SuperSpecialAwesome level designer. Now I learn to treat extremely harsh criticism as a thing to be expected. Thanks for that, Azentiger and AxemJinx.

Let's see what he can do when he puts actual effort into something before submitting it again, shall we?
