STARSW

Hello!

While browsing through youtube, I stumbled upon this pack of ULTIMATE patches (sprites?) called STARSW. being the curious guy I am, I somehow was able to download the pack, and there it rests in my folder. I was wondering if I could (should?) share it, as some of them are extremely useful. ( One makes the level completely low gravity for Mario, which could come in handy for space levels).

By the way, why is this pack not mentioned ANYWHERE in these forums? Oh dear, I hope i'm not douing anything wrong by downloading it....

Ciao,
Depends on whether its author wants it to be shared to the public. If he doesn't, that would count as stealing.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

Well, I actually can't seem to find the author. (He is known as..er..unknown). If we can't find him, then we can't credit someone, nor can anyone claim to be the creator. hence making it a piece of bits and bytes which travelled aross the internet at lightning speed and by coincidence, turned out to be those useful sprites in SMW?
since it's a japanese sprite pack, it's subject to the rule that you can't share japanese hack stuff (though not sure if it's enforced anymore). Just consider yourself lucky for having it; it is indeed a neat pack.

edit: just checked the readme. it says this:

This time, this zipFile decided to be opened. :)
However, The STARSW.zip that is here prohibits the second distribution.
But you remodel the sauce to like it and can use it with your work.
Moreover I doesn't support it.

basically, you can use it, just dont redistribute. you can modify the files, but the author provides no support
I know where this is at and i have it. PM me if you want it :)

EDIT: I spend a lot of time looking for rare japanese stuff, and luckily i find almost everything i need. Actually there's a lot of japanese websites but i cannot link them

Although I have the pack, I would still love to know the owner. At least there will be someone to give credit to..
IIRC Vip(per) is the author of this pack.

But I'm not sure. The pack includes a website (now unavailable) called: http://vip.rgr.jp/sm4wiki/

But I'm unsure
vip isnt one person though, while it seems the starsw pack is by one person

prolly safest to just list them as "STARSW creator"
I know who VIP are, But who are Wall and Alaska?
